Debating
The Senior Debating Team have
been named the Provincial
Champions for the Model United
Nations Debating Competition – held on 29 August 2015 at
Gauteng Provincial Legislature in Johannesburg.

World Robotic Olympiad
Nikhil Daya, Tom He and Steven Walgenbach in Grade 11 were
placed Second at World Robot Olympiad. They have qualified for
the Olympics!
German
Experience
The Goethe Institut sent two young
people to set up 16 different games
for Gr. 7-9 to get to know Germany
and the German culture better. The
students had a wonderful time
driving a remote control Mercedes
blind folded, smelling perfume,
speaking over a two-way radio,
finding out more about famous
German people and working
together in teams.
Music:
Andrea Kruger and Emma Efstratiou were asked to perform with the Johannesburg
Symphony Orchestra at the Franschhoek food and wine festival which took place at
Monte Casino. 29-30 August.

Art:
The following 3 students from Crawford College Pretoria are finalists for
their clients in the Pretoria News Design- an- Ad Competition. Their
designs will be printed in the 2015 Pretoria News Design an Ad
Competition Supplement soon.

Colour Burst!
Our Grade 11s arranged a fun-filled Friday afternoon Colour Festival for all the students
from both the College and the Prep to enjoy.
Crawford Cares
Numerous blankets were collected by our students and were among the other donations laid out
on the lawns of the Union Buildings to celebrate 21 years of freedom.

Steven Walgenbach
Congratulations to Steven Walgenbach and
His team “The Blade Runners” for winning the
League and for Steven making the SA team
to qualify for the Paralympics in Rio.
Steven is also the youngest player on the team
Boys Soccer:
Chinedu Okolo is playing for Super Sport United
Youth Team.
He was selected for assessment for the U/17
National team that will be going to Chile for the
U/17 World Cup
He was also selected to for the U/19 Super Sport

Girls Soccer:
Our Girls came second in our pool and have made it to the
play-offs where they will be playing for to win the whole
JVW Girls League.
Hockey:
The Senior Girls won their League
and ended 3rd in our District.
Our Junior Girls improved
during the season and gained a
lot of experience. Our Indoor team
ended up in 3rd place playing against
very good schools such as Garsfontein,
Woodhill and St Albans Club.
Softball:
Our Softball Girls had a great
season with some
very excellent results. We are still
waiting for our final League
standing
Netball:

Our 1 team Girls had a successful season and won their League very convincingly
Boys & Girls Tennis:
Both our Jnr Girls and Boys
Teams ended up 2nd
in their League.
Squash:
Bronwyn Doeg, Grade 10 was chosen for the
Northerns Junior Squash Association u/16 A
Team and competed in SA Schools inter
provincial tournament in Bloemfontein 29 June
– 4 July 2015. They finished 3rd in the A
League.
It was Crawford College Pretoria’s first season in the
Squash League and our players had really good results
with winning most their matches.
Equestrian:
Sanka Pityana received Gauteng Tshwane Colours and participated in
the Gauteng Finals.
