Homeowner Email Package
The below are instructions for creating an email promotion.
The promotional email will include a header image, email copy, and a button at the bottom. For
these instructions we’re going to use Gmail as the email provider, however this can easily be
done following the same technique using Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, Outlook, or any other provider.

These instructions will cover the steps you need to take to complete this promotion including:








Step 1: Creating an email
Step 2: Adding the subject line
Step 3: Inserting the email header image
Step 4: Inserting the email copy/text

Step 6: Adding a button image w/ a hyper link
Step 7: Adding your email recipients as Bcc
Step 8: Sending the email.
The email will look like this when you’re finished:

Step 1: Creating an email
First, create an email like you would any other email. In Gmail, we’re going to click “Compose”.
Step 2: Adding the subject line
Next, copy the text below into the subject line (Or, create your own subject line if you want to).
Spring Savings: Up to $300 off Windows and Patio Doors
*Don’t enter in any recipients yet, we will do that last to avoid accidentally sending the email
before it is ready.
Step 3: Inserting the email header image
Copy in the header image. To do this, right click the image below and click “copy”

For an example, see the image below:
Next, paste the image directly into your Gmail message. You can do this by pressing CTRL+V
or by right clicking and pressing “paste”. See below for an example:
Lastly, Gmail will automatically resize the image. So, to get the original image size, click on the
image directly and then click “Original Size”.

Step 4: Inserting the email copy/text
Now we’re going to copy and paste the email copy in. This should be just as simple, if not
simpler, than copying the images. Copy the text below and paste it into your email.

Step 5: Formatting the email copy/text
Once copied in, feel free to format the text however you want. For instance, I’ve made the $100,
$200, $300 lines into bullet points. I did this by highlighting the three lines, and then clicking the
“bulleted list” option at the bottom of the email.
Step 6: Adding a button image w/ a hyper link
Now, add in the button at the end of the email right above the line “*Manufacturers rebate valid
toward select windows and patio doors only”.
First, copy and paste the button below just like you did the header image.
Next, highlight the image you just pasted in. You can do this by clicking your mouse down
directly to the right of the image, and then dragging you mouse to the left of the image.
Once selected the image should appear with a blue tint.

With the image highlighted, click the “Insert link” button at the bottom of the email. It should look
like a chain link.
A dialog box should appear with two sections to enter in text.
In the “Text to display” section copy in this text below.

Step 7: Adding your email recipients as Bcc
Lastly you will want to add your recipients.
Important: you want to add all recipients as Bcc. Otherwise everyone you add will be able
to see the email addresses of everyone else you sent the email to.
To do this, select Bcc in the top right corner of the email.
Next, add in every email you want to send this email to and separate the emails with a comma.

Step 8: Sending the email
Review the email and make sure it is exactly how you want it. Once you’re 100% pleased with it
you can send it. You can do this by clicking “Send” at the bottom of the email.
*Keep in mind, you will want to send this email when there’s a high likelihood that your customer
will be checking their email. So avoid weekends and late nights.
Step 9: Celebrate
Celebrate, you’re finished!
