OVERVIEW
Ana Pueyo has been working in the fields of energy and climate change policy for over 10 years. Her research interest is in
low-carbon development, particularly in innovation, development and transfer of low-carbon technologies in developing
countries, in pro-poor access to electricity and in the national and international policies that are necessary to promote these.
She is currently working on projects dealing with low carbon energy technologies in Kenya and Ghana. She is trained as an
Economist and has completed her PhD in Industrial Engineering focusing on renewable energy technology transfer to
developing countries. She has published her work in the journals Energy Policy and Climate Policy. She has a solid
quantitative background and a long experience advising policymakers in the European Union, UK and Spanish
Governments. She has also worked extensively as a consultant for the private sector, including the World Business Council
for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), private companies in the energy sector (Endesa, Iberdrola, Repsol), sectoral
associations (oil and gas, glass, ceramics, sugar), project developers in the low carbon business (Onecarbon, DLight), and
airlines (Thai Airways, Air Asia, Iberia, Air Transat, Kalitta Air). Ana has also advised NGOs, including Greenpeace and
WWF.
