What are the dates for the GSWS?
August 15, 2016 – August 20, 2016
When and where is opening and closing ceremonies?

Opening – Monday, August 15 - Long Center 7:00PM – 10:00PM (Doors open at 6:00PM)

Closing – Saturday, August 20 - Award ceremony is at Krieg Softball Complex following the championship

games – After party at Rain nightclub located at 217 W 4 St (downtown) Austin, TX 78701
What is the name and location of the fields/parks at which we’ll play?
There are three parks at which games will be played. They are:
Krieg Field – Located at 515 S Pleasant Valley Rd. Austin, TX 78741
Walnut Creek Metro Park (“Havins”) – Located at 12138 N Lamar Blvd. Austin, TX 78753
Southeast Metro Park – Located at 4511 TX-71,Del Velle, TX 78617
The official schedule, which lists the actual location, dates and times (and opponents) you’ll play will be handed
out at the Manager’s meeting on Monday – August 15th.
When is the manager’s meeting?

Monday – August 15 at the Hilton (Host) Hotel at 1 PM for all divisions.
When does Pool Play begin?

B-C-D Divisions will begin pool play on Tuesday – August 16
th
Masters Division will begin pool play on Wednesday – August 17
A - Division will begin pool play on Thursday – August 18th
When does Double Elimination begin?
B-C-D Division are scheduled to begin on Thursday – August 18th

Masters Division is scheduled to begin on Friday – August 19
th
A – Division are scheduled to begin on Friday – August 19
At what time will games begin/conclude each day?
First Games - 7:50 am each day barring rain or other unforeseen circumstances causing delays. Last games
will be scheduled no later than 6:00 pm each day except Friday. Winners brackets games may be scheduled
later on Friday.
When can a player register?
Sunday - 9:00 am - 8pm (Hilton Hotel)
Monday – 9:00 am – 3:00 pm for all Divisions (Hilton Hotel)
Monday – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm for all Divisions (Opening Ceremonies)
Tuesday – 1 hour before first scheduled game – Until last scheduled game begins (Each Park)
Wednesday – 1 hour before first scheduled game – Until last scheduled game begins (Each Park)
Thursday – 1 hour before first scheduled game begins - until the first double elimination game for your division

Friday – 1 hour before first scheduled game begins - until the end of pool play (Masters and A division only)
Does a player have to play in Pool Play to be able to play in Double Elimination?
No, but they must be registered before the first tournament game is played
Can players rated over 14 participate in the Master’s Division?
No
Am I eligible to play in the Master’s Division even if I don’t turn 50 until after the Series has concluded?
Yes. As long as you will be at least 50 by December 31, 2016, you meet the age eligibility requirement
What bats will we be using? Can I bring my own?
We will use the pick-a-stick format adopted last year. Both teams will pick from the same bucket of bats
provided. The provided bats are:
DeMarini Legacy (balanced) 25oz -28oz
DeMarini Future (end-loaded) 25 1/2oz - 28 1/2 oz
No other bats are allowed on the field or in the dugout area.
Can I register if I do not have a government issued photo ID?
No
When can we begin submitting our GSWS rosters?
The deadline for submitting regular season rosters is July 15, 2016. You may begin submitting GSWS rosters
on July 17, 2016.
When are GSWS rosters due?
No later than 11:59 PM PST August 1, 2016

When can I begin making reservations at the host hotels?
Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 12:00 pm (noon) CST
Is there a deposit and how many rooms can I reserve on my credit card?
There is a one night NON-REFUNDABLE deposit and you can reserve a max of 3 rooms on one credit card.
How many rooms is a team required to stay in a Host Hotel to receive the $300 deposit refund?
Minimum 3 rooms for 5 nights or cumulative total of 15 room nights per team for all divisions.
How do I get my deposit back?
You must present the treasurer with copies of your Hotel receipt from the Host Hotels showing you met the
minimum requirement.
