**All entrants are required to have an onsite representative attend the taste test contest from 3:30-4:30
p.m. and be available for photos. Failure to have a representative attend the contest may result in
disqualification. If the utility is unable to send an employee to ACE, proxies from the Section may
be designated instead.

Shipping Information:
1. Water samples should arrive in Philadelphia NO EARLIER than Thursday, June 8 and NO
LATER than Saturday, June 10.
2. If your utility would like to compete for the “People’s Choice” award, please send SIX
samples.
Utilities not competing for the “People’s Choice” award need only send TWO samples.
3. Each sample should be in a 1-liter container. While you can use any type of container you wish,
the suggested use is a glass Teflon-capped container with no air at the top. Metal lids and
plastic containers are discouraged.

(Hard-sided mini coolers and lots of tightly-wrapped bubble wrap are recommended to offer the
best protection from breakage during shipping.)
6. Materials must be shipped through Fed-Ex or UPS. We cannot accept packages sent
through the USPS. If you ship via USPS, it will be turned away. AWWA is unable to ship coolers
back to participants. We will leave the coolers in the Press Room during the conference. You
may retrieve your cooler there, and use the onsite Fed Ex facilities to ship it back.
7. Once your samples have been shipped, please send the method of delivery, delivery date
and tracking number to [email protected].
The winning water system will be announced immediately following the taste test. The onsite
representative must be available at that time to receive the award and pose for photos.
