ART31 Funding Opportunity: Make your project happen ART31 is developing across Kent and we want you to be part of the revolution! #ChangeKent ART31 aims to give young people aged 13-25 years an opportunity to lead the development of the arts in Kent for other young people. This could be in any art form but might include music, theatre, dance or visual arts. Over the next year there will be a programme of opportunities including trips to festivals, gigs, shows and galleries as well as the chance for young people to organise their own activities. As part of this programme we are excited to be offering young people the chance to apply for funding to deliver an arts project or event in Kent or Medway. Your project needs to: Give children and young people in Kent or Medway the chance to take part in arts activity (participants can be any age up to 25 years old) Be delivered in partnership with an organisation e.g. arts organisation, school, college, university or youth provider Involve a professional artist e.g. film-maker / dancer Have a legacy (create ongoing partnerships, benefits and activities after the project has finished) Be delivered at some time between 25th July and 16th December 2016 We are particularly interested in projects which offer opportunities to young people who have limited access to the arts and one for which you can demonstrate there is a genuine need. If you have a great idea but don’t know who to work in partnership with, don’t worry – we can help match you with the right organisation. How much can you apply for? You can apply for between £500 and £2000. Applications can be for up to 50% of the total project costs. The remaining 50% can be a mix of cash and in-kind (the organisation you are working with needs to offer some funds but it can include using their resources e.g. space or staff time). Applications must include at least 20% cash funds. How to apply: Complete the application form and email it to [email protected] by 16th May 2016. Your application will be assessed by the ART31 Youth Board (made up of young people from across Kent and Medway) and we will notify you of the result by 13 th June. Our aim is that projects take place in different parts of Kent and Medway and involve young people from different backgrounds as much as possible. Successful applicants will be supported by professional artists, the ART31 Youth Board and others throughout the process. After the project they will need to send in a short report and celebrate their achievements / share their learning at an ART31 event. Don’t be too disappointed if your application is not successful as there will be other ways you can be involved in ART31 activities. Deadlines: Applications should be submitted by Monday 16th May Decisions will be made and applicants notified by Monday 13 th June Projects must take place between 25th July and 16th December 2016
