My previous leadership roles in work and in school have taught me

Hello!
My name is Heather Sink and I am a fourth year student in the
Pharmacy Doctorate program at Shenandoah University. I completed 2
years of undergraduate studies here before beginning graduate school.
During my first 4 years I played varsity softball and although I would not
say sports are solely responsible for many of the leadership qualities I
possess, I do believe they play a major part of who I have become. I
have also worked as a Resident Director in a freshman hall for one year
as well as tutored many students and been involved with many
organizations. I enjoy helping others and making a difference. Being I
have always worked as a team, I look forward to meeting everyone and
helping you each to develop your skills to become better leaders for our
community.
One of my favorite quotes:
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many
ripples.” —Mother Teresa
Hello guys,
My name is Vladimir Daskalov and I am originally from
Pernik, Bulgaria, and moved to America at the age of eight. I
am currently a third year Pharmacy School student at
Shenandoah where I also completed my undergraduate
studies with a major in Chemistry. At Shenandoah I had the
opportunity of playing tennis for 4 years and as a team we
have served our community on many different occasions.
Shenandoah has also given me the opportunity to meet
some very interesting and inspiring people who have helped
me develop character and ambition. I currently work as an
intern at Rite Aid pharmacy and have worked in the
pharmacy for over 6 years. Over that time I have learned a lot from pharmacists about the
qualities and significance of being an effective leader, not just in the pharmacy, but also in
everyday life.
This is an extraordinary opportunity to be challenged, meet new people, and really have some
fun therefore I really feel that everyone will get a whole lot from this experience. I am excited to
meet each and every one of you and be there each step of the way as you progress to become
better leaders.
Hello, everyone! My name is Kendall Lorenzen and I am a recent
graduate of the College of William and Mary. I did not consider myself a
leader when I began my time at William & Mary, but I had the fortune of
serving in the Student Assembly in various capacities for the past four
years and it was incredibly transformative. I also served in Residence Life
for three years. In these roles, I was able to appreciate different kinds of
leadership styles and learn what style fit me and my communities the best.
I’m very thankful for those opportunities and I look forward to learning
about what has shaped each of you! For the summer I am the Teaching Assistant for the W&M
D.C. Summer Institute for Leadership and Community Engagement as I prepare to serve as the
Global Fellow for Global Playground. After this I hope to become an AmeriCorps member.
I served as a counselor for Leadership By Design last summer and I cannot wait to meet you all
and learn about what motivates you and help you discover the leader you each have the
potential to be!
Hello! My name is Kirby Lorenzen. I am currently transitioning from a job
in digital marketing to a Content Specialist position for a non-for-profit
healthcare provider. I graduated from Longwood University in 2013 and
was active in the school’s radio broadcasting program. I have worked with
kids of all ages in a variety of jobs.
My previous leadership roles in work and in school have taught me the
importance of working to leverage every group member’s input when
tackling a task. I am thrilled at the opportunity to help you enhance your
leadership skills, and hope to learn as much from you as you will from the
program!
