Wanneroo Basketball Association Relocation

Wanneroo Basketball Association Relocation
Client:
City of Joondalup
Location:
WA
Project Type:
Feasibility Study/Business Case
Completed:
2013
The Wanneroo Basketball Association (WBA) is
required to vacate the Joondalup Basketball Stadium,
due to the expiration of its lease arrangements.
Council resolved to assist the WBA to establish
alternative accommodation and engaged Tredwell
Management to prepare a Business Case.
The following is a summary of the key requirements of
the project:
 The development of a Needs and Feasibility
Study for the relocation of the WBA basketball
facility and associated infrastructure for a
number of possible relocation sites;
 The development of a high level Concept Plan
for the preferred site location;
 Financial Assessment including potential
funding sources and detailed capital, ongoing
maintenance etc;
 A Business Case, Management Plan, and Risk
Analysis for the preferred site location.
As a result of a comprehensive assessment Arena
Joondalup was determined to be the preferred option.
Based on the WBA requirements and needs, an
accommodation schedule was prepared from which a
high level concept plan was developed. The plan
features four courts including a show court with 500
retractable seats, double change rooms,
clubroom/meeting facility overlooking the show court,
kiosk/canteen/kitchen, storage and
office/administration areas.
The successful completion of this project has aided the
City of Joondalup Council in committing $4million
towards the Arena Joondalup redevelopment, which is
additional to the $16 million committed by the State
Government in March 2013.
