Standard I: Evaluation, integrated
planning, implementation, and reevaluation to verify and improve the
effectiveness.
 Standard II: The institution offers highquality instructional programs, student
support services, and library and learning
support services that facilitate and
demonstrate the achievement of stated
student learning outcomes.

WASC Standards
Standard III: The institution effectively
uses its human, physical, technology, and
financial resources to achieve its broad
educational purposes, including stated
student learning outcomes, and to
improve institutional effectiveness.
 Standard IV: The institution recognizes
and utilizes the contributions of leadership
throughout the organization for
continuous improvement of the
institution.

WASC Standards

Focus has shifted from resources to
outcomes-based measurements of
institutional effectiveness.

Emphasis on goal attainment.

Colleges are encouraged to build a
“culture of evidence” to demonstrate goal
attainment.
Accreditation trends

Of 25 colleges applying for reaffirmation
of accreditation in 2009-10, 14 had their
accreditation reaffirmed.

Eight colleges were issued warnings.

Three colleges were placed on
probation.
