ODSL Online Referee Assigning System

ODSL Online Referee Assigning System
Starting with the Spring 2008 the ODSL will be transitioning to an online referee
assigning system which is simple to use and will provide benefits for the assignors,
referees, players, and the League.
To get started go to www.odsl.org/assignors or go to the ODSL website www.odsl.org
and choose the link in the left column titled “Referee Assignors”. Login with your email
address and PIN. . The great thing for assignors with multiple clubs is that you will see
all your matches from this one site.
Once logged in you will be taken to your main page. From here you can choose to
update your personal contact information, add people to the list of referees who work for
you, send a broadcast email to your referees, or view a list of the ODSL games you need
to assign referees to. We have also added a link to export the games to an Excel file.
Updating your contact information: This has been pre-populated with whatever
information you gave us on the ODSL Clubpage, but we’d like to have complete
information (especially important when it comes time to mail you a check). Your
referees will only see your name, home phone, and email address from their page.
Referee List: From this link you can add referees to the list of those who will work for
you on ODSL matches. You can give us complete information if you have it, or allow
them to flesh out their information later. Only a name and email address is required, but
we’d encourage them to give us a complete mailing address, as we do have to mail them
a check at the end of the season. Once you add them to your list the system will send
them an email notice and give them their user ID (their email address) and a PIN. It will
also give them a link (www.odsl.org/Referees) where they can go and update their
information and view any matches you have assigned them. Following the games they
will be able to go to this link to report their games. We will also have a quick link for
reporting games (www.odsl.org/GameReport). They will find all the forms simple and
easy to use.
One note about entering referees who have similar names: Please use something like
a middle initial, Jr. or Sr. to distinguish one from another.
Once you have begun assigning matches you will go to this list to see how many matches
you have assigned to each referee and whether they have accepted them or not. You can
also see all of their contact information and PIN. You will also be able to send emails to
selected referees from this list.
Email Broadcast Referees: You can use this link to send all your referees a similar
email in a safe format that should avoid most spam filters.
Game list: From this link you will see all the ODSL matches, listed by month, which
you are responsible for assigning.
You can make multiple assignments directly from this page or you can click the red edit
link and make assignments for a single game from an assignment page (see screen shot
below) Click the drop down arrow in the assignment field to see the referees you have in
your database and choose a referee name for the assignment. The small check box next to
each assignment field sends an email to the referee if checked once you save your
assignments. Always click the save button at the bottom of the page to finalize all
assignments.
If required, you can come back to this match, change out a referee and send only that
referee an email by checking them off and saving the assignment.
Once you enter referees here, the list on the previous page will be updated with the
referee’s name(s), which will show in YELLOW if they have not yet accepted the game,
GREEN if they have accepted the match, or RED if they have declined the match.
If the administrator makes a change to a game on the schedule during the season, you and
any referees who you have assigned to the rescheduled match will receive a notification
email. You should then communicated with the referees to see if they are able to referee
the match at its new date, time, and field.
All ODSL matches must be reported online by the center referee following the match.
The report address is www.odsl.org/gamereport. Instructions for reporting are outlined
on the green match report card given by the home team to the center referee prior to the
start of each match.
Once the match has been reported a lower case green "r" will appear next to the match
number on your Game List.
