Under-14 Kennedy Cup 2017

The Carlow & District Juveniles League are undertaking a fund-raising programme to help with the huge costs
involved in our U14 squad partaking in the Kennedy Cup. The Kennedy Cup is the premier national competition in
juvenile soccer in Ireland in which all 32 leagues from throughout Ireland are represented with 640 players coached
to the highest standard battling it out for this prestigious cup. This tournament receives tremendous nationwide
support from the media and also provides the players with the opportunity to show-case their talents and be
discovered by a football scout from a major club, all of whom attend this tournament every year seeking out fresh
talent, or the chance to even get a call-up to an International or Regional squad. Past well-known players who first
came to notice in this tournament include the likes of Robbie Keane, Damien Duff and our very own Padraig Amond.
There is a huge cost involved in participating in this competition, and indeed all competitions in which they partake,
for accommodation, food, travel, gear, coaching, amenities, registration and entry fees, etc. The Kennedy Cup is a
week-long competition held annually over a five-day period in the month of June in the University of Limerick. This
year’s competition takes place from the 12th to the 16th June and we are offering you the opportunity to be involved
and to support their efforts by sponsoring a player with a donation of €100. In return for your generous contribution
you will receive the following benefits;

As you may be aware the Carlow & District Juveniles League caters for juveniles throughout the entire county of
Carlow up to the age of 16 years and through our affiliated clubs endeavour to provide a safe and secure climate for
these young and enthusiastic players to play and enjoy the game of soccer. Through our league structure from
Under-8 right through to Under-16 we provide them with the opportunity to develop and apply their skills in an
enjoyable yet competitive set-up. Our U14 squad are part of a very good academy structure whereby the more
skilful players can progress and represent Carlow in inter-league, cup and league competitions throughout Ireland.
