Exent Drives Game Innovation at the Casual Games Association Showcase for Casual
Connect Seattle 2012
Exent Sponsorship and Distribution Development Fund to Help Spawn Innovation in MultiPlatform Game Development
New York, NY – July 10, 2012 – As part of its ongoing commitment to cultivate innovation in
the casual games industry, the Casual Games Association (CGA) today announced the addition
of Games on Demand provider Exent as a Sponsor of the Innovation Showcase exhibition at
Casual Connect Seattle 2012. Held July 24-26, Casual Connect Seattle is the largest conference
focused exclusively on the casual games industry.
The Innovation Showcase is an “interactive art-gallery” style exhibition conceived by Juan Gril
of the CGA in which a selection of never-seen-before innovative games is available for play to
conference attendees. CGA created the Innovation Showcase with the goal to inspire
developers and publishers to create new, unique games that propel the casual game industry
forward in terms of innovation and imagination. Selected by an independent CGA committee
for displaying unique concepts and mechanics, the games are based on an unsolicited selection
the CGA has played since the last Casual Connect summit.
The Innovation Showcase at Casual Connect Seattle 2012 will feature the growth and evolution
of the exhibition to include Android, Web, iOS and Tablet games to reflect growing consumer
demand for games across platforms and operating systems. Above and beyond Exent’s
sponsorhip of the CGA exhibition, Exent will nurture further innovation through the creation of
a Distribution Development Fund. The fund is available for all developers in attendance at
Casual Connect Seattle to reward ingenuity and innovation, and to help them continue
developing unique games across distribution platforms.
“We are thrilled to have Exent participate as a sponsor of the games Innovation Showcase in
Seattle,” said Jessica Tams, Managing Director, Casual Games Association. “As a long time
partner of the CGA and its summits worldwide, Exent shares our mission and commitment to
driving game innovation and encouraging developers to push the envelope as they envision and
design new, exciting games.”
“The Innovation Showcase sponsorship is yet another avenue for Exent to work closely with
developers and support the creation of exciting and fun new games,” said Rick Marazzani, Head
of Content Programming, Exent. “In addition to raising further awareness of our GameTanium
distribution model, our involvement and creation of the Distribution Development Fund
underscores our commitment to helping to bring the best games to market.”
“Exent has shown YoYo Games its commitment to game innovation by licensing several
extremely creative games developed with GameMaker: Studio,” said Sandy Duncan, Chief
Executive Officer of Yoyo Games. “We look forward to seeing the clever new titles Exent signs
on at the Innovation Showcase in Seattle.”
With mobile game play continuing its dramatic growth curve, GameTanium now offers game
publishers the ability to leverage Exent’s world leading Games on Demand service on the two
mobile platforms consumers want most – tablets and mobile. GameTanium offers game
publishers a rich channel for delivering their games across multiple platforms, maximizing the
life of games and royalties they earn.
The Innovation Showcase at Casual Connect Seattle 2012 will take place at Benaroya Hall on
July 24-26 from 9am until 6pm near the Bronze Sponsor area. A full list of participating
developers and games can be viewed at the Casual Connect Seattle website.
