The Biosign Steam-24 Biological Indicator (BI) is a selfcontained BI containing ampuled growth medium and filter
paper with 104 Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores/carrier.
The Biosign Steam-24 utilizes the Biosign 55ºC
Steam Incubator.

Place a Biosign Steam-24 BI in the sterilizer to be monitored.
Refer to the appropriate Association for the Advancement of
Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) guidelines for the proper use
of biological indicators in healthcare facilities. After processing
the Biosign Steam-24 BI, follow the instructions for use included
with your Biosign Steam-24 for activation and incubation.
A positive control should be run on each day that testing
is conducted.
The Biosign Steam-24 is also available as a Test Pack for
132ºC (270ºF) prevacuum cycles with an instant readout
integrator load card. The Biosign SSI Test Pack gives the user
instant reassurance based on a result from a steam integrator
card. The Biosign SSI Test Pack contains the Biosign
Steam-24 BI, giving assurance that the sterilizer operated at
proper sterilization parameters.

Incubate 55ºC ± 3ºC for 24 hours.
results
Positive growth of the test strip (sterilization failure) is indicated
by media change from RED to YELLOW. Results in 24 hours.
eXpiration date
18 months from date of manufacture.
