Parents… Please keep in mind these are middle school girls and middle school games. Please keep degrading comments about players, coaches and officials, as well as inappropriate vocabulary to yourself. Otherwise, you may be asked to leave the premises. Do not approach a coach or referee after a game with concerns. Please wait 24 hrs before addressing the issue. Parents… Sportsmanship – Athletes and Parents Team bows and headbands – no longer allowed Team vs. Individual mentality – We are a TEAM…keep the DRAMA out of it. Transportation to and from Games All athletes are required to ride the bus to and from the games for volleyball and basketball. Students are able to be picked up after arriving back at Ulrich. If you are unable to pick up your child within 20 min. after arrival back at the school, please make arrangements for alternate transportation. Otherwise, playing time may be affected. Team Uniform Care We collect all uniforms from the athletes upon arrival back to school from games during volleyball and basketball. This eliminates uniforms being lost, ruined, or forgotten during those seasons. Track & Cross Country seasons – athletes are responsible for the issued uniform until the end of the season. Academics Grades Grades are the most important thing! No Pass-No Play Study! Find help! Don’t be afraid to ask. Go to tutorials during non-practice time Try to go to tutorials after school so practice time is not effected. No Pass – No Play UIL states: Any F on a report card will result in an athlete becoming ineligible. They will remain ineligible for 3 weeks until the next progress report. They will only regain eligibility IF they have passing grades in ALL their classes. Behavior Athletic Contracts The girls and parents sign behavior contracts at the beginning of the year. No Drama! Behavior during practice, games, and school time will influence discipline actions in athletics. Loss of playing time Removal from a team Removal from athletics Fundraisers Fundraisers Each sport will have a “game day” shirt to order at the beginning of the season.
