The Stone Bridge (Romania)

The stone Bridge is a musical game about a bridge that fell into water and was
carried away by it. The players are not sad because they will build a better and
more beautiful one.
Children in kindergarden or primary schools play it.
Here is the lyrics of the song:
“The Stone Bridge has fallen down,
The river came up and took it away
We’ ll build another, river down
Stronger and nicer than the other one.”
The Stone Bridge
The players choose two leaders. They silently decide what they stand for (e.g. colours,
countries, animals, numbers, etc). They hold their hands, suggesting to be a bridge. The
other players start singing the song and pass under the bridge, as if they are the river
flowing beneath.
When the song comes to its end, one player is caught under the bridge. He has to decide
which side of the bridge to join, according to the choices the two leaders offer him.
The song is repeated and the players “flow” under the bridge.
It goes on , until there is no player to “flow” under the bridge and take a decision.
The game ends with two teams arranged behind the leaders, that have to prove which is
the strongest to build another bridge. They pull together at their leaders till one team
falls down.
The game starts again, following the same rules.
