Please note a revised pricing schedule has been loaded and must be used for the submission of your tender
5 Schedule 3 Pricing Schedule v3 0.
E1 Drinking Water (Private)
Is a single price required here for the check
parameters (and can confirmation be given as
to what you understand as the check
parameters).
Also the audit and the stand alone are two
separate prices required and if two prices how
are these to be recorded in the table?
Or do you just require a price for the named
tests in Col C.
E1A Drinking Water (Private)
Will this be based on 2 x 3 month dose meters
per property which is recommended practice or
on a single 1 x 3 month dose meter?
Or are rapid 10 day dose meters required?
Document1
Check parameters are set out in the PWS Regs 2009, price will need
to cover analysis of these.
Audit and Reg 10 are separate requirements so an extra row has been
added in the pricing schedule to reflect this. Please enter a price for a
full suite in both instances.
It would be helpful to know prices for each parameter, so you can
include a separate pricing schedule as well.
The recommended 2 x 3 month dose meters will be fine

Question
E2 Drinking Water (mains - basic)
Is a price required for what we believe is a
typical suite of analysis for chemical and
bacteriological parameters or just a price for
tests names in column "c".
Response
A price for a typical suite will be fine, pesticides should be tested in
accordance with the regs.
It would be helpful to know prices for each parameter, so you can
include a separate pricing schedule as well

Could we have more clarification on the term
pesticides? The regulations state 4 named
pesticides and total pesticides. To get the total
it is requited to test the 3 main groups of
pesticides/ herbicides namely Acid herbicides.
Alkaline pesticides and OC pesticides.
E3 Drinking Water
Is this the standard HSE approved 2 week
method or a screening method?

Yes

E6 Asbestos (Filters)
Does this mean air tests for clearance/
reassurance? Or does it mean identification of
the fibres by electronic microscopy?
Usually it would be for air tests for clearance/reassurance after
asbestos related incidents.
Document1
Standard HSE approved method will be fine

E7 Swimming Pool (chemical)
Please assume that it is at site, all sites located in Bristol City
It states that the chlorine samples will be done
on site so does this mean that they will be done
by the sampling officers and therefore do not
need to be taken into the quote price? Or will
the successful laboratory be taking the samples
in which case what are the locations of the
sites?
E8 Swimming Pool (biological)
No. But please add comments regarding the accreditation in an

Question

E20 Unknown substances
More clarification required as this could be as
long as a piece of string depending on the
substance / circumstances or do you just want
a hourly price rate quoted?
E21 Diff.Tube - NO2 etc. (collection) and
E21/a Addition / reduction to E21 per site
added/removed
We occasionally get the odd unknown substance to identify.
At this stage an hourly price rate would be suitable, with
acknowledgement that depending on the substance further analysis
costs might be required depending on the substance.
Not sure what is meant by this requirement
could more clarification be given
E23 Air quality (complaint)
Will it be acceptable to quote / enter an hourly
rate for this as the price will be dependent on
the nature of the job?
E24 Miscellaneous (complaint)
Will it be acceptable to quote/enter an hourly
rate for this as the price will be dependent on
the nature of the job?
E27 Fuel (soil/air)
There will be two prices for these tests how do
we report/fill in pricing column?
For E22 we are looking for an annual price for the addition or deletion
of a site from E21.
Hourly rate would be acceptable, although prices for generic suites
such as Top 10 VOC's , Hydrocarbons etc. would be useful so you can
include a separate pricing schedule as well
E30 Air
Will it be acceptable to quote/enter an hourly
rate for this as the price will be dependent on
the nature of the job?
Yes
Document1
The definition of these have been amended.
For E21 we are looking for the total annual price for the monthly
collection of NOx tubes from 106 sites – not a price per site.
Yes
New row added

E31 Occupational Dust & LEV testing
Will it be acceptable to quote/enter an hourly
rate for this as the price will be dependent on
the nature of the job?
F13 Meat Products and
F16 Poultry Products
The regulations quoted are revoked, can you
clarify that your requirements relate to the
current legislation. All of the requested analysis
is unlikely to be carried out on the same
sample, would you consider separating out the
analysis to relevant samples, e.g. added water
separate from meat content corrected for fat
and connective tissue limits.
F26 Factory and
F27 Initiative
Can you give more information as to what is
required - various is meaningless, and does not
enable an accurate price to be given
F29 Microbiological
Can more precise information be given, the two
examples given would require very different
analysis, and as such a single price cannot be
given.
