Inactivity Timeout Once a user has logged into Online Services in order to apply for or maintain and evacuation scheme, after authenticating with the government’s RealMe service, if there is no activity for 1 hour, then approximately 120 seconds before the threshold is reached the user will be warned by a message highlighted in a red bar in the top of the web browser indicating that the session will close soon and the time remaining in seconds will be shown: Prepared by the Fire Information Unit – NZ Fire Service 1 To avoid the session being ended and information being lost, the user needs to conduct an action that overrides the inactivity timeout e.g. communicate with the Online Services server by: Refreshing the web page Navigating to ‘maintaining my evacuations schemes’ Navigating to ‘my dashboard’ Saving a record such as an application for an evacuation scheme Submitting a record By doing any of the above, the session will remain active. Maximum Session Length - Timeout Once a user has logged into Online Services in order to apply for or maintain and evacuation scheme, after authenticating with the government’s RealMe service, due to security reasons, after four hours of active use, approximately 120 seconds before the four hour threshold is reached the user will be warned by a message highlighted in a red bar in the top of the web browser indicating that the session will close soon, to save their work and the time remaining in seconds will be shown: Prepared by the Fire Information Unit – NZ Fire Service 2 The user cannot do anything to prevent this session timeout, so the recommended action is to: Save your record such as an application for an Evacuation scheme Log out Log back in and continue working for a further four hours Session Expiry When a session is expired the user will be presented with the following message: For help on online services or evacuation schemes ring 0800 347 346 or email us at [email protected] For help on using RealMe ring 0800 664 774 and speak to the RealMe DIA helpdesk In an emergency dial 111 and ask for ‘FIRE’ END OF DOCUMENT Prepared by the Fire Information Unit – NZ Fire Service 3
