RULES
3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
4:00 p.m. Start Time
CHECK IN STARTS AT 3:30
1. ONE registration form per team. EACH PLAYER’S PARENT OR GUARDIAN MUST SIGN FORM
OR THE REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
2. 3 age divisions: 4th & 5th grades (10 & 11 yr. olds); 6th - 8th grades (11-14 yr. olds);
9th – 12th grades (14-18 yr. olds)
3. Single elimination tournament.
4. A size 28.5 (5th grade & younger) and official (6th grade & up) size ball is provided by event organizers and
used for all games.
5. Players can only play on ONE team. Can have Co-Ed team.
6. No alternates are allowed on a team once the entry deadline has passed.
7. Entries to participate are handled on first-come, first-served basis. Some divisions will close before registration
deadline.
8. All participants’ parent or guardian MUST SIGN the waiver on the registration form indicating they have read
and understand the tournament rules, as well as verifying the participant’s grade.
9. Parents/guardians must be prepared to show documentation of the participant’s age to tournament officials at
anytime. Failure to do so results in a permanent disqualification of that team member.
10. Games are played to 11 points. Subject to change.
11. All baskets are worth 1 point each. (3 point shots are 1 point too)
12. 3-second rule will be enforced. (Violation up to court monitor)
13. No stalling (20-second limit) must attempt a shot. (court monitor call)
14. A team may not play with fewer than 3 players.
15. The assigned staff has authority to forfeit tardy teams.
16. Offense calls your own fouls. Court monitor will decide all disputes.
17. The Lemont Park District has final say in all disputes and reserves the right to permanently remove any team
or participant from the game for improper conduct or cheating such as age/grade violations.
18. TIE BREAKER RULE: In the event of a tie, each team chooses player 1, 2 & 3 to shoot one free throw each.
The players alternately take one free throw each until one free throw is missed by one. If the tie is not broken,
the players repeat the tie-breaker until a winner is decided.
19. All players must wear gym shoes. Players MAY NOT wear jewelry of any kind or hard hair fasteners.
20. There are no time-outs allowed. The court monitor, however, may stop time in case of serious injury or an
emergency.
21. Players must dribble or pass ball to free throw line extended after getting rebound before they are allowed to
score.
22. Failure to follow transition from defense to offense by clearing free throw line results in turn-over on when
and if the ball hits the rim. If ball does not hit the rim, court monitor’s discretion, the ball DOES NOT have to
clear free throw line.
23. The ball is out of bounds past the cones or ½ court line.
24. No free throws will be shot. All fouls will be possession check from above the free throw line.
25. The Lemont Park District have made every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of the facilities and assume
NO responsibility or liability for stolen articles or for personal injury sustained by participants and spectators.
26. Each winning division team will receive awards provided by the Lemont Park District.
27. GOOD CONDUCT, SAFETY AND SPORTMANSHIP will be maintained. No swearing, arguing, taunting or
hanging on the rim.

JULY 3RD EXTRAVAGANZA
Please join All-American Basketball Academy for a FREE clinic to all kids from the Lemont area.
All kids K-9 will participate in a FREE basketball clinic to work on advancing their basketball
fundamentals, athletic footwork, speed/quickness, as well as fun games and competitions!
Register before June 15th and your child will receive an All-American Basketball Academy souvenir
T-shirt (while supplies last.) The clinic will include:
• Personal instruction from Coach Sam Rizzo and the
All-American Basketball Academy Coaching Staff
• The clinic will include ball handling, shooting, footwork and speed drills
• Shooting Tournament, a Free Throw Tournament and
a 3-on-3 Tournament (separate registration required)
