With the insight gained from his previous role as a practising attorney and current role as an in-house legal consultant for a corporate entity, Moroke Phajane will use case studies of different scenarios to explore the problems experienced by start-up law firms and to develop possible practical solutions. Weber Incorporated, Parktown Johannesburg and was admitted as an attorney in 2006. He worked as an associate at Deon Weber Incorporated from 2006 and joined Bell Dewar (now called Fasken Martineau, Johannesburg) as an associate in 2009. In 2009, Moroke joined Thomson Wilks Attorneys), Johannesburg as an attorney practising for his own account. While at Thomson Wilks, Moroke identified an opportunity for the firm to expand to other provinces and opened a branch in Mafikeng, North West province. In 2013, Moroke’s entrepreneurial and innovative approach to practising law secured him a position as an in-house Legal Consultant at Liberty Group Limited in Johannesburg.
