Set up Email Client – Mac Mail

Instructions:
1. Open ‘mail.app’ from the ‘Applications Folder’.
2. From the main menu, click on ‘File’ and select ‘Add Account…’.
3. Enter your UNB account information.
Full Name: Enter your name.
Email Address: Enter your UNB email.
Password: Enter your UNB password.
Click ‘Continue’.
4. Enter the incoming mail server information.
Account Type: Select ‘IMAP’ from the dropdown menu.
Description: Enter a description for your account (eg: UNB email).
Incoming Mail Server: pod51009.outlook.com
User Name: Your UNB email (eg:[email protected])
Password: Your UNB password
Click ‘Continue’.
5. Enter the outgoing mail server information.
Description: Enter a description for your account (Optional).
Outgoing Mail Server: pod51009.outlook.com
Click the ‘Use Authentication’ checkbox and enter your UNB account
information.
User Name: Your UNB email (eg:[email protected])
Password: Your UNB password
Click ‘Continue’.
6. Ensure the ‘Take account online’ checkbox is checked then click ‘Create’.
(note: It may take several minutes for your UNB email to sync with your Mac
Mail Client.)
*Note: If you created folders in Webmail, you will have to subscribe to your folders
to see them in Mac Mail. To do this:
1. In Mac Mail, go to ‘Mail’ >’Preferences’. Select ‘Accounts’.
2. Highlight your UNB email account and click on the ‘Advanced’ tab.
3. Check the ‘Automatically synchronize changed mailboxes’ checkbox.
4. Close the ‘Preferences’ pane and click ‘Save’ when prompted.
5. Quit Mac Mail and re-launch the client. Your subscribed folders should
appear in your list for your email account. (note: If your folders do not
automatically show up, go to ‘View’ menu and select ‘Show Mailboxes’. Click
on the arrow to the left of your account to expand the list of your subscribed
IMAP folders.)
