Dear Centre Cricket Manager, I would like to please invite any Indoor Cricketers who may have slipped through the net, to the Men’s/Women’s/U21 Boys and Girls Open trials for the England Squads. The World Cup is taking place in Dubai, from the 16th – 23rd September 2017. Please note that our departure and arrival dates have not been finalised yet. However it is likely to be departing 3 days before the tournament and arriving back on the 24th/25th September. Also not finalised is the cost of the tour, which at best is estimated to be around £2000. Please note that there has already been a number of other events in which performances have been noted (Super League, British Open, All Stars Tournament, Open Trials on the 11th), however we would like to extend our invite to people who may have not received information about the above events. The age group for the Juniors World Cup has been changed by the WICF to 21 and under. Therefore, players must be 21 or under during the tournament itself, so if someone turns 22 during the tournament they would be become illegible to play. Note all players trialling for the Men’s and Women’s Squads must be playing in the National League 2017. U21 Players must participate in the Under 21 Open, unless there is suitable reason for missing this weekend. It would be beneficial for the U21’s to play in the National League too, as it gives more exposure to members of the selection committee. The initial two dates stated in the poster will be attended by all those already in the trial system. All newcomers will be assessed during these two sessions and will either be asked to return or notified that they have not made it to the second stage of trials. If they do not make it to the second stage of trials, then participating in the tournaments above is not compulsory. If they make it through to the second stage, their category will continue training/trialling every other week until selections are made at the start of April. Please note that the costs of sessions are £7.50, and they will last a minimum of 3 hours. Lastly, this letter is for your eyes only, and allows for you to give players information about the trial process. I have also attached a copy of a poster that you can distribute within your centres to advertise to potential trialists.
