Top IQ
With an IQ of 189 on the Stanford Binet scale, Nikos Lygeros has earned a reputation as the
smartest Greek in the world-at least that's how the Greek press has described him for the last
three years. Lygeros, a research fellow and computers and mathematics lecturer at France's
University of Lyon, is a member of the French branch of Mensa and several other societies
for individuals with high IQs (Sigma, Mega Foundation etc.).
The Stanford Binet is used in "Genetic Studies of Genius," the most famous longitudinal
study of gifted individuals. Lygeros, 35, has also developed his own, more expansive, IQ test
(the G-test) and created the PI society, where an individual's intelligence quotient is measured
in the fields of mathematics, sciences, philosophy and literature. He is editor of PI's online
journal Perfection.
Lygeros believes Achilles, Ulysses and Prometheus are archetypes of gifted, universal genius"the universal genius is necessarily an altruist." A breakthrough by Lygeros and his
colleagues in their research into number theory, brought him into the international academic
and media spotlight in 1998. A prolific essayist in mathematics, he also writes poetry, scripts,
novels and essays on politics, philosophy, history, tragedy and drama. Lygeros has lived in
France since he was 12.

Articles and Studies in Strategy
http://www.lygeros.org/strategie.htm
The objective: a meta-strategic concept
An objective is an aim set by a person, a firm, an organization hoping to reach it. It represents a chosen
situation for future and becomes reason for action for the entity that pitched on it. The choice of an aim
represents a basic prelude to any strategic decision...
On the temporality of the mix strategic
In management, the expression mix strategic is known to gather all the actions enabling to reach the aim
determined by the firm...
On the nature of strategy
As we have pointed out in our article on the temporariness of the strategic mix regarding the problem of the
exact definition of the term combination, we will see that the definition of strategy is a matter for debate, at least
in its classical way...
Meta-systems: Systemic model and polemological paradigm
The general systems theory of Ludwig von Bertalanffy via its structure can lead to strategic models able to
manage the interpenetration of modern strategies...
Deterrence: a virtual strategy of a real efficiency
From a strictly argumentative point of view, deterrence is a rhetorical form based on dialectical elements. It
works in virtual to get real repercussions. In that way, it is a mental model as we defined this expression in a
previous article...
The Battle of Chaeronea and the Sicilian defence: an identical mental schemata
In 338 BC, one of the most famous battle of Greek Antiquity occurred in Chaeronea located on the Cephissus
near Thebes. It brought into conflict the Macedonian army and a Thebo-Athenian coalition. The progress of the
battle and the victory of Philip II and Alexander have represented a classical example of strategy supremacy
since that time...
From strategy to cognition
One of the most memorable steps of the extension of strategy out of a purely military context is the adoption of
the concept by the originators of the theory of the games von Neumann and Morgenstern in 1944. The age of
management, direction and firm policy due to the pioneers of the planning in firm is gradually replaced by the
firm strategy. Besides, it was during the next years that strategy has been competed by the "management
defence" system and the crisis management...
Transparency as an obstacle
It is acknowledged to consider transparency as a means of direct access to knowledge. Having no intrinsic
obstacle, the transparency of acts and thoughts seems to be the most ergonomic one to move in the cognitive
field...
The oblique order and lateral thinking
The oblique order was invented by Epaminondas and tested by Philippe. However, it only proved its tactical
extent when Alexander made use of it during the battle of Gaugameles in October 331 BC...
An eccentrical view of the role of the center
One of the most powerful assessment of Emmanuel Lasker who has been a world chess champion for several
decades was to recommend to play, not the best move but the most displeasing one for the opponent.
On the indivisible aspect of the armoured division
The main advantages of the armoured divisions are the element of surprise linked to the extreme mobility, the
fire power and the penetration capacities. However, badly exploited, tanks as in a context of mere infantry
support prove to be not only inefficient but become a perfect target...
Small Wars and significant ideas
Though small wars are omnipresent in the world, their polemological value still remains largely unknown. It is
true that some authors were concerned by this alternative strategy but often to denigrate it. ...
Doctrine or the scope of the localness
According to Lucien Poirier, one of the main features of the doctrine being a product of a calculated option in
the plurality of existing theories and getting a special representation and conception of action is the local...
The Anti-ship missile: a paradigm of the power of the weak
For an army having a limited number of warriors, the choice of its defence weapons is essential...
Geostrategy and International Laws: a conflictual combination
In a previous article entitled Equality of difference we mentioned that this concept was at the root of democracy.
The individual is naturally considered as different from another one not affecting his civic value, for the
acceptance of difference leads to the equality of rights. In this one, we want to study the side-effects created by
the replacement of the word individual by the expression state entity within this context...
The unexpected is not unpredictable
From a strategic point of view, a war always teaches a lot, not on consequences but on tactical choices resulting
from great strategy. However, it is not its only contribution. It also refers to the quality of analysis coming after
any attack and generally being conducted by military and strategic warriors...
From cooperative systems to the strategic alliance
Within the context of cognitive researches, one can prove that a group is more powerful than a unity. Its power
not only comes from its constituents power but above all, from the effect of the synergy of its structure relying on
relations and peculiarities...
Initiative seen as a non linear reasoning
From a cognitive point of view, it is obvious that initiative plays a vital part and this, at different levels. In this
article, we are going to study the peculiar points of initiative giving its creative power and retrogradely analyse
its emergence...
Human rights and the art of war
If we really want to defend human rights, we must be aware and this, with pitiless and hopeless wisdom that war
is as omnipresent as large-scale conflict. Not in consequence of a deep pain sapping human soul, but because of
the structure of social fabric when the latter has to manage some mass...
From rigidness to fluidness via immersion
In collective unconscious, chess game represents the intelligence game par excellence. Whereas psychometric
studies showed that the results for this game, of course intellectual, had no correlation with intelligence
quotient.
Models as a strategic tool
After the presentation of game theory in strategic world, it has become necessary to wonder about the role of
model in strategy. Some notions peculiar to models have already been highlighted before, nevertheless the model
was not considered as an entity in its own right...
