WRITTEN PETITION PROCEDURE FORM
HEALTH CARE FOR ALL OREGON seeks to engage, educate, and mobilize Oregonians to
influence our legislators to enact legislation declaring that HEALTH CARE IS A HUMAN
RIGHT. The written petition is one of the many tools developed in the strategic plan to be used
to facilitate conversations, increase support, and encourage involvement in our campaign to
establish a universal, comprehensive, affordable health care system that covers everyone. The
written petition signature can be done quickly and therefore when there may not be time for the
Health Care Survey or Photo-Petition.
Member Organization Written Petition Chair Person:

_____Distributes written petitions to other members in the organization
•
_____Collects written petitions from members and makes photo copy for records
•
_____Completes data tracking report form
•
_____Sends written petitions to Jess Hoffman once a month via mail/electronic method
•
_____Seeks support as needed
Coalition Written Petition Point Person:
•
_____Guides members to the online tool-kit
•
_____Receives written petitions and tracking report forms (preferably by mail)
•
_____Follows up by phone and/or email to ensure timely returns
•
_____Offers encouragement and support
•
_____Compiles evaluation forms and develops report
•
_____Sorts written petitions according to their ZIP code
•
_____Sends written petitions to data entry person(s)
*Each organization will function differently. Larger organizations may need to develop a small
committee of individuals working under the chair person to support and facilitate these efforts.
