Business Studies gives you the
opportunity to learn about the many areas of
business and how these are applied in real-life
situations. You will be able study how small,
national and international businesses are
operated and explore the basics of starting
up a new business venture. You will also gain
a good understanding of enterprise, human
resources, marketing and finance.
Choose Business Studies as an option and you will have
the chance to develop business skills in a vocational
context that you can apply to any career.

Assessment Information
A Level Units
AS Unit 1 - Business Opportunities - 1 hour and 15 minutes written examination that
makes up 15% of qualification.
AS Unit 2 - Business Functions - 2 hours written examination that makes up 25% of qualification.
A2 Unit 3 - Business Analysis and Strategy - 2 hours 15 minutes written examination that makes up
30% of qualification.
A2 Unit 4 - Business in a Changing World - 2 hours 15 minutes written examination that makes up
30% of qualification.
Entry Requirements
You should have achieved a grade C or above in GCSE Business Studies.
If not taken at GCSE then you should have achieved a grade B or above in GCSE English or Maths.
