Transport and Facilities: Molly Browne will book your facilities and transport, notifying you on Wednesday/Thursday for the following week. Self-drive vehicles should be used preferable, so encourage members to take the minibus test. DURING YOUR MATCH Eligibility: Any Undergraduate or Postgraduate studying over 50% of a full-time programme is eligible to play. You cannot play for two teams in the same sport on the same day. You must have club membership and Warwick Sport membership to be eligible to compete in BUCS. Cancellations and Walkovers: Involuntary – nothing could have prevented the match from being cancelled. The other team must make every effort to have a rematch. Voluntary – reasonable actions could have been taken to prevent the match from being cancelled. The other team can demand a walkover. Walkovers – if you cancel too late (less than 48 hours) you will concede a walkover and will not be allowed to proceed to knock-out stages. Playing Under Protest: BUCS 020 763 35080 Eg. If the pitch is in poor condition, officials are not qualified – you must complete a form (off BUCS website) BEFORE the match begins. The oppositions captain must sign, if not ask an official. Email to Molly Browne before 10am the next day. AFTER YOUR MATCH Disputes: Email Molly Browne by 10am Thursday. You will be required to complete a dispute form. The form can be found on the Exec Resources on the SU Website. HOME FIXTURES All home fixtures are timetabled by Molly Browne, liaising with the Team Captains. These will be visible on the BUCS website and confirmations will be emailed to Team Captains one week before the fixture. Please complete a team sheet for each match and email to Molly Browne by 12pm on the Monday before your fixture. It is Team Captain’s responsibility to recruit the appropriate officials for the match. There are three methods of payment for officials: 1. Pay in cash on the day, get them to complete a receipt/invoice and claim the money back via a Money Request form. 2. The official can invoice us directly and we can arrange payment to be sent. 3. You can obtain cash upfront by completing a money request prior to the match, but you must supply a receipt/invoice the following day. Indoor Facility Allocation: Outdoor Facility Allocation: Badminton: 2 x courts for 3 hours Basketball: 2 hours Fencing: 3 hours Netball: 2 hours Squash: 2 x courts for 2.5 hours Table Tennis: 3 hours Tennis: 2 hours per match Volleyball: 2-3 hours Futsal: 2 hours Waterpolo: 2 hours, full pool Football: 2pm start (sometimes earlier – double check) Golf: 10:30/11am starts Hockey: 1.5 hours per match Lacrosse: 2pm start (sometimes earlier – double check) Rugby League: 2pm start (sometimes earlier – double check) Rugby Union: 2pm start (sometimes earlier – double check) Tennis: 11:30/1pm starts AFL: 2pm start (sometimes earlier – double check) AWAY FIXTURES Confirmation will be emailed to team captains a week before the fixture. Molly will liaise with captains to book transport and will confirm by 4pm Monday. You will be given direct contact details for your relevant transport who will be your first port of call should there be an issue with transport on the day of your fixture. Please keep directions and destination details and take with you, even if you are on driven transport. DOUBLE CHECK before you get on transport that it is the right one, going to the right place. Cross-check with details that Molly will provide you. Complete the Team Sheet and send to Molly Browne no later than 12pm on Monday. Take your BUCS Regulations, playing under protest form and accident report form. If you are going to arrive late to your match contact your opposition, details will be provided. GENERAL INFORMATION Please read the BUCS Rules and Regulations, particularly Reg. 12 Fixture Administration. This covers playing colours, forfeited matches, walkovers, cancellations and playing under protest. Reg. 15 covers postponed and abandoned matches, Reg. 6.5 Team Selection (important for sports with more than one team in BUCS). Clashes with team kit – the home team are responsible for finding an alternative. Any match alterations must be done through Molly Browne, or you could face fines.
