THE NEXT GENERAL MEETING IS THE GAME FEED, 2 FIFTH ST.,WENATCHEE, WA
WENATCHEE SPORTSPLEX, FEBRUARY 20TH, 2016. DOORS OPEN AT 4:30 P.M.
URGENT!—WE NEED HELP FROM THE MEMBERSHIP! WE NEED TO CONTINUE
THE SAME GREAT INVOLVEMENT TO MAKE THIS YEAR THE BEST YET!
GAME FEED: The Game Feed is coming on February 20th. Tickets are on sale at Sportsman’s Warehouse in
East Wenatchee, Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee, online at www.wsassoc.org, and from Don Millar 509-8857969. There will not be any tickets sold at the door this year! The venue for the Game Feed is the same as
last year; the Wenatchee Valley Sportsplex at 2 Fifth Street. This is located at the bottom of Fifth Street at the
River Front Park area. Hurry and get your tickets before February 17th! Ticket sales will end on that day!
We still need people to help with all activities involving the Game Feed. Can you help; 1. Friday night at 5:00
PM to help us clean. 2. Saturday morning at 9:00 AM to set up. 3. How about working one of the raffles. 4.
After it’s all over we have to clean the whole place so we leave it in better condition than we found it.
5.During the Game Feed we need two teenage youth to help as runners. 6. Then during the bucket raffle we
need several youth to help carry items to the front. (Remember, all youth get a free rod and reel just for
attending) 7. We also need some folks to help relieve those who are working the events or games, so they
can go eat and have restroom breaks. “Many hands make for light work.” If you have something you would
like to donate to the Game Feed, please contact Matt Gutzwiler at 509-663-1526.
LIFE MEMBERS: The WSA is attempting to update their records for life members. Please contact Dan
Dickerson at 509-548-5249 or at [email protected] to confirm your current information.
WDFW: By now, all hunters should have reported their harvest reports on elk, deer, bear, moose, mountain
goat, big horn sheep, and turkey. It is not too late to file a report; however crab catch cards are due Feb. 1st.
STEMILT BASIN: There are several changes and updates for the Stemilt Basin area. These issues will be
addressed at the next general meeting in March. The Stemilt Partnership will most likely meet sometime in
February. More information will come from that meeting.
USFS: Winter Recreation- See the Washington State Snowmobile SnoParks site or Non-Motorized SnoParks site for
Leavenworth / Lake Wenatchee area which has maps and information about groomed trails, passes you will need
(Discover or SnoPark pass), and other updates. Get outdoors and learn about winter ecology snowshoeing on the
Okanogan-Wenatchee and Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forests January through March. No experience is
necessary and the Forest Service provides snowshoes. Participants should wear layered and insulated clothing, hats
and gloves with sturdy, waterproof shoes or boots. To offset the costs of the program, a donation is requested.
Extreme winter weather may cancel snowshoe programs. Reservations will now be completed online. Please call the
following contact for more information. Contact: Snoqualmie Pass Visitor Center: 425-434-6111
WEBSITE: The WSA has a NEW website, www.wsassoc.org. Please visit the new site and look through the
different pages and the ever-expanding photo gallery. There is a calendar of events, a “contact us” page, and
new this year, online ticket sales for regular adult and youth as well as Life Member adult and youth. The
website allows you to visit our new Facebook page also. Being a new website, you may encounter things that
are not working as well as we would like. Please report any difficulties to Dan Dickerson at 509-548-5249 or
[email protected].
FACEBOOK: Please join us on our new Facebook page and “like” or “comment” on any of the different items
from which to choose. See the different photos from events and activities or, better yet, join us for an event
or activity and be in the photo.
NEWSLETTER: You may have noticed that the January newsletter started having advertisements with it.
These businesses are ready to provide members with their services. Drop by or give them a call, and tell them
you saw their ad in the WSA newsletter. If you, or someone you know would like to advertise with us, just
send an e-mail to Dan Dickerson at [email protected]. If you have information that would be of
interest to our members, send that information as well, before the 20th of the month to make it into the next
newsletter.
