Dominion High School Homecoming Parade Friday, October 7, 2016 - 5:00pm Your Float Could Win First Place!!! You are invited to participate in the 2016 Dominion High School Homecoming Parade. The parade route starts at Meadowland Elementary and ends at Dominion High School. Judging will be based on overall float appearance, creativity, and Titan Spirit!!!! (Please note: we will not be judging floats on the homecoming hallway theme) Please take a moment to read the Parade Rules and Regulations that all entrants must comply with to be eligible for participation in this event. The parade committee reserves the right to deny participation by any group/individual that does not abide by the Parade rules and regulations. YOU MUST OBTAIN AN ADULT SPONSOR SIGNAURE in order to participate in the parade. Once you have obtained your adult sponsor, please turn in the form to the Mrs. Magill or Mr. Burns on or before Tuesday - October 4, 2016. We will contact you to confirm your participation in the parade. This REGISTRATION must be completed and a confirmation email will be sent. No entrant may participate in the parade without the signature and initials of an adult representative prior to commencing parade staging activities. 2. The parade line-up will begin promptly at 5:00PM with parade proceeding no later than 5:20. The route for the parade will start at Meadowland Elem (729 Sugarland Run Drive), heading NW on Sugarland Run Dr, Left at S. Cottage Rd, Left at Seneca Ridge Dr, Right at Augusta Dr ending in the parking lot at DHS. 3. ALL floats cannot exceed the monetary amount of $500 for decorations and presentation - NO EXCEPTIONS! 4. Parade units must select at least one (preferably 2) Parade Team Leaders. Your Parade Team Leader will be responsible for the following; a. They will be the contact person for your parade unit during and after the parade. b. They will be with your group on the parade route. Their primary job is to make sure that your unit does not travel too quickly or too slowly during the parade. c. To ensure safety, NO items in any form (candy, toys, etc.) can be thrown or distributed from vehicles and floats to parade spectators. If you throw objects from your vehicle, you will be asked to leave the parade route and possibly face a ticket from LCPD. THIS IS A COUNTY ORDINANCE. You may toss candy if walking along parade route with your group 5. All parade units should maintain an equal distance during the parade route. Parade Team Leaders and Parade Officials will monitor the distance and pace of the parade units. 6. Banners may not include alcohol/tobacco products or anything considered illegal or inappropriate for minor children. 7. Smoking on or near the parade units is prohibited. 8. No firearms, fireworks, or flames are allowed by any participant. 9. All units must maintain a forward motion with approximately 30 feet between each entry. No unit will stop at anytime during the parade to perform. 10. Drivers of motorized vehicles must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance, available for inspection upon request. 11. No participant or spectator may enter or exit a moving vehicle. All participants must remain on the vehicle. Do not allow arms or legs to dangle over the sides of vehicles or trailers. Participants MUST get approval from the driver of a vehicle in the parade prior to getting on or off a vehicle and/or float. 12. Reckless driving and speeding will result in failure to complete the parade. This is a violation of County law and a citation may be written. 13. Please do not construct or dismantle the entry before or after the parade, during line-up or on city streets. Minor adjustments, repairs, etc are acceptable upon inspection by a parade official. The vehicle must be parked and turned off before any repair can be completed. 14. The Parade Team leader for each entry must review this information and general rules with every Participant. 15. Parade Officials have the right to have groups or individuals removed from the Homecoming Parade for exhibiting inappropriate behavior, poor sportsmanship, and for using profanity and objectionable language.
