Scheduled Meeting
May 9, 2016
The Parks and Recreation Board met Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Recreation Center at 5:00pm.
Attendees: Sam Meek, Jason Boyette, Michelle Hastings, George Johnson, Robert Johnson, Luci Taylor.
Other Attendees: Parks and Recreation Director Mike Alsup, Asst. Director Dan Jackson, Secretary Jennifer
Swann, Aquatic Director Pam Henry.

Agenda Item #8: New Business
A. Bicycles on Nature Trail
 Jason Boyette made motion to take down the sign that says no bikes on nature trail. George Johnson
second the motion and motion carried unanimous. Discussion of restoring the middle line to the trail.
B. Photo Bids
 Robert Johnson made motion to approve bid for Kimmel photography. Motion second by Sam Meek
and motion carried unanimous. Reasons for choosing Kimmel are as follows: Local business, offers $3
per package ordered, free pictures to coaches, and a set of team pictures to the city. Also offers a low
cost package option for families
C. Small Babe Ruth field restructure
 Create two small fields for the 3-6 yr. old teams to play and practice which would free up time on the
two little league fields for the older age children. Work is to be done by park personnel and there is
discussion about the cost of converting the fields. Dan Jackson will complete a tentative cost schedule
to present at next Park Board meeting.
D. Adding New sports
 Girls fast pitch softball, wrestling, flag football, pickle ball (played on a tennis court w/temporary net).
We have been approached by various community members that see these areas as an organized need.
