BUPS Phys Ed. Newsletter Term 3, 2015 FOUNDATION. Students will continue to play simple games utilising previously introduced skills incorporating; kicking, striking, batting and throwing and catching skills. They will continue with skills practices which involve elements of; soccer, hockey, cricket, t-ball, basketball and cricket. An emphasis upon personal fitness will continue involving scoring runs and chasing games. Their gross motor skills will be enhanced with some athletics training in high jump, hurdles and shot put. Year 1-2. Students will continue playing minor games which include elements and skills of major games such as: T-Ball, Boundary Ball, Overarm throwing/3 Ball, Cricket, Field Hockey and B/Ball Court Soccer. Athletics skills will be introduced and practiced involving high jump, and discus. Their personal fitness will be developed through increasing numbers of scoring runs in the lesson warm up and through vigorous chasing games. week. The term activities will comprise games skills: Newcomb, End Ball, Continuous Cricket, Field Hockey, B/Ball Court Soccer. With the Term 3 House Athletics competition, skills will be revised in: High Jump, Triple Jump and Relay running. The lesson warm-up involving scoring runs will increase to develop personal fitness. Year 5-6. The term will commence with athletics training prior to the Term 3 House Athletics competition involving, High Jump and Triple Jump. The two week programme of major game skills practice followed by games practice will continue. The term programme will comprise: 1 Bounce Volleyball, Field Hockey, Soccer and Bat Tennis. T.
