Franklin Square Relay for Life Newsletter
The Relay For Life is a celebration of hope, progress and answers in the fight against cancer. Teams of students, co-workers,
friends and family join together to raise funds prior to the Relay For Life and then make the commitment to walk through the
night as a showing of solidarity for all those whose lives have been affected by cancer. Why overnight? Because at 2 am
cancer doesn’t rest so for one night, one community will not rest either.

Team Captains need to register their team. No other team member will be able to register for Relay until the team captain has set up the team on-line.
The $20 registration fee includes a participant t-shirt. In order to ensure that you receive your t-shirt, you must register ASAP! Registration for this event
will close May 28th .There will be no onsite team registration for this event! All students 18 and younger, must have a chaperone who is 25 years old.
Chaperones and Students must have all contracts signed and submitted by the final meeting on May 18th , to be permitted to stay over night.
Did you know? : YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO STAY OVERNIGHT? You may come to the ceremonies and leave after if you cannot commit to
stay the length of the event .

CANCER PREVENTION STUDY-3
Research today for a cancer-free tomorrow
This year’ Relay will offer the unique
opportunity to participate first-hand in a
landmark new study, the Cancer Prevention
Study-3 (CPS-3). The American Cancer
Society will be enrolling people into CPS-3,
a long-term study that will help researchers
better identify the lifestyle, environmental
and genetic factors that cause or prevent
cancer. Participants must be between the
ages of 30 to 65 and have had no personal
history of cancer.
