Catholic Charities Camp I Am Special shares in the mission of the Church to reflect the
compassion and love of God in Christ by providing persons with disabilities opportunities to
know, to love, and to serve God, based on the value and dignity of human life.
For over thirty years, Camp I Am Special has offered overnight camps located at Marywood
Retreat Center for children and adults with any disability. High school and college aged students
selflessly dedicate themselves by becoming buddies to our campers for the week, providing them
with constant care and attention. Our campers enjoy activities such as pool time, arts and crafts, a
talent show, dances, and making strong bonds with new and old camp friends. To learn more

Many of our campers rely on scholarships to be able to come to camp each year. On December
30th, 2016, the buddies of Camp I Am Special are hosting the 6th Annual Flag Football
Tournament at Bishop Snyder Catholic High School. The Camp Leaders and Camp Buddies
started this fundraiser to assist in the fundraising efforts to ensure that all of the campers can
experience a fun week of friendship and community. All of the proceeds of this tournament go
directly to camper scholarships for the upcoming summer. Our goal is to raise $3,000 hosting
this tournament. Please consider sponsoring this event, as it is one of our greatest efforts to
support our campers.
