Description: The campers learn basic skills with everyday horse activities. They ride twice a day, create
art/crafts, and participate in a progress show at the end of the week. Returning campers carry the flags
with the pledges every morning. Transportation is NOT provided to Bayfield Farm. This is open to first-time
horse camp campers.

explore your inner creative artist and scientist. This week will encourage youth to try new activities such as
drawing, painting, culinary, history, exploring the state capitol, trips to museums, and so much more! Learn
how to make items such as jewelry, tie dye shirts, microwaved cakes, ice creams, and more. Participants
are guaranteed to take something home! This week will be a combination of field trips and activities taught
by our very own 4-H leaders.

suited for people who have some level of comfort when swimming. Transportation provided.

Description: This week long, hands-on, interactive 'farm' camp brings participants together with the
local farms in our area. Youth will learn about agriculture through learning stations about the topic of
the day (examples: corn, soil, wheat, nutrition) where youth will play games, visit farms daily, make
snacks and take a trip to our state farmers market.

Description: A unique 4-day experience, this session is all about shooting sports! Campers will learn how to
clean, respect, and safely operate various firearms under the close supervision of our highly trained and
qualified staff. Some of the activities will be: Shotguns, 22 Rifles, Archery, Muzzle Loading, and Pistols.
Campers will have ample shooting time as well as the opportunity to participate in a few other traditional
camp activities. If you have a young firearms enthusiast at home, this is an opportunity you won’t want to
pass up!

Description: Do you know how to solder? Would you like to create a small electronic? This hands-on
camp provides you with the necessary materials and instructions to complete the assembly of a small
electronic kit from the NC 4-H Electric Program. You will learn about common electronic components
that make up the project circuit, how to follow a parts layout, and how to safely use soldering equipment.

Description: Take your family out to the ball game in Durham! The Durham Bulls baseball team will be
playing the Norfolk Tides! Meet at the stadium 1 hour before the game begins for a 2-hour long buffet of
food (included in your registration cost) and receive an official ball cap! This price is discounted to you
thanks to the United Way Grant 4-H receives. We will be sitting in the Carolina Hurricanes Home Run
Patio! You will receive your ticket prior to the game. No transportation is provided. We encourage this
camp to be one for the whole family to enjoy…baseball, food, and ball cap all included!

Description: Let’s celebrate the 2017 Summer Fun Program in UNITY! Let’s come together with a day
filled with water games such as water balloons, dunk booth, slip and slide, etc. Find out what other 4H’ers did and let others hear and see your adventures from the summer! The community is invited to see
what 4-H is all about! We will provide hot dogs, chips, drinks, and other foods. There will be plenty for the
whole family to participate in! Come dressed to get wet! This is an event for all ages and family.
Invitations will be sent in July with the link to register!
SUMMER FUN REGISTRATION PROCESS/REQUIREMENTS
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE YOU REGISTER!

Please verify that we have an updated email address for your child. Camp enrollment
confirmation/waitlist will be sent by email within 48 hours of registration. Updates, changes and
instructions for specific camps may also be sent by email.
•
Cancellations or changes to any camps must be made by email ([email protected]). No
request will be taken by phone. Phone calls should only be made for emergency or last minute
situations.
•
Camp spots cannot be reserved without payment.
•
Scholarship forms are available at the front desk and on the website.
•
Be sure to check age requirements and locations as you review activities in which to enroll your child.
•
Waiting lists will be available after camps fill up.
•
Due to confidentiality, we are unable to provide you with the names of other youth signed up for
camps. Please do not request to see the sign-up sheets.
•
Fees cover insurance and supplies.
•
Camp fees are not refundable.
•
Registration is first come, first serve. Payment is required at the time of registration. Cash and checks
only. Checks should be made payable to Granville County 4-H. You must bring the correct change if
you are paying with cash.
You may register in person or by mail. If you choose to mail in your registration, you MUST have
completed the following:
o Summer Fun Registration Form
o 4-H Enrollment Form (as of January 2017)
o Medical Release Form-this must be notarized, which can be done at our office (please call the
office ahead of time to insure someone is available to notarize your form). You cannot sign
the form before it is notarized, it must be signed in the presence of a notary.

If paying with Clover Cash, you must submit the clover cash with the registration form. The office will
not have a record of the clover cash.
•
Granville County 4-H follows the 4-H Code of Conduct. Please review this with your child before they
attend. These forms are located at the front desk in the office and on our website.

*Please keep track of which camps your child has signed up for. If he/she cannot make the camp, please let the office know at least 24 hours

the camp starting and pick them up no more than 15 minutes past the end time.
