Upward Bound Incentive Program

Upward Bound
Incentive Program
Central High School– Fresno, CA
Purpose: An important component of the Upward Bound Program is the
participation and attendance of the students and parents. As we are
aware of the outside activities and/or distractions that could potentially
prevent our members from participating, we would like to offer our students an incentive for actively participating in all available avenues that
we have to offer here with Upward Bound. The Upward Bound Incentive
Program will promote, motivate, and gear students on participating and
regularly attending required events that are hosted by the Upward Bound
Program.
Description: The UB Incentive Program will be based around all activities,
functions, tutoring requirements, and student’s performances throughout
the 2010-11 academic year. These include: monthly Saturday Academies,
lunch/after school tutoring, and off campus excursions. Each grading period students will be tracked on their progress of attendance and participation of the listed items. For each component, students will be given points.
Every Friday, students will have the opportunity to trade in their points for
rewards.
Point Scale:
Saturday Academy Parent and Student = 4 Student or Parent Only = 2
Off Campus Excursions = 3
Tutoring Session: 1 hr = 1 point , 2 hrs= 2 points
NOTE: If your total GPA is above 3.49, and you do NOT require tutoring, you
receive points during each 6 week grading period based on A and B
grades in core classes. (Eng, Math, Science, Social Science)
A=4 points
B=3 points
