How to maximize your potential by understanding your rhythm! Your body serves as a mirror to your soul and wellbeing. It will send you signals as to how it’s doing and what it needs. In order to become more conscious of your body and what you may need as a whole person, try the following: Over the course of a typical week, keep a note of your energy levels throughout each day. Every hour or so, just note down your energy level on a scale of 0 to 10. Where ‘10’ is high- energy, ready and able to tackle anything, and ‘0’ is virtually no energy - barely able to keep your eyes open. After a few days, you should have a clear idea of your daily pattern. Try plotting your hourly energy levels on a simple chart, like this one: Ask yourself: When are my high-energy periods during the day? When do I feel at my lowest? How does this fit with my life (work, relationships, personal time)? What impact does eating have? (e.g. do you have more or less energy after a meal?) What about exercising? Or taking a nap? These questions will help you identify not only your personal daily energy rhythm but also whether you are in tune with it. Take the stairs instead of lift, the bicycle instead if car and walk as many distances as you possibly can. Release Tension: Once a day, maybe at lunch time, allow yourself a quick stretching exercise, breathe out through your mouth, maybe even allow yourself to make a sound to release your jaw. MIND Happy Moment Journal: once a day- maybe at night- write down all the amazing things that have happened today! Be grateful for little presents, free gifts or invitations. Being appreciative of what happens to you will spark positive energy in your brain! Visualize: Spend a few minutes visualizing your desired future. Where do you want to be, who with and how will you feel when you get there. This way you prep your subconscious to make the right decisions every day. INTEGRATION Touch your Heart & Head: If you connect to your heart and head by placing a hand on both parts of the body, it is more likely that you tune into your intuition, stepping away from pure mental energy and aligning body, heart and mind. Breath: As much as you can, breathe deeply and slowly into your belly, up through your heart and out through your mouth whilst relaxing the jaw, and placing the tip of the tongue of the roof of your mouth. Chinese, Indians and other cultures have known it for millennia: breath channels the chi through the body and connects the brain with the body.
