CHANCE FOR 10 FINTECH AND CYBER SECURITY STARTUPS TO
WIN TRIPS TO TEL AVIV
NSW fintech and cyber security startups are invited to a free event on Monday (19 June) to find out
how to apply to win a career-igniting trip to the world’s innovation capital of Israel as part of a joint
NSW Government and Austrade program.
The ‘Tel Aviv Landing Pad Open House’ event is from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and is being hosted by
TechSydney at its headquarters at 78 Stanley Street, Darlinghurst.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for all fintech and cyber security startups to learn more about the 2017
Tel Aviv Landing Pad program being offered by the NSW Government and Austrade and how they
can apply,” NSW Minister for Trade and Industry Niall Blair said.
“Under this exciting program ten fintech and cyber security start-ups will be supported to travel to Tel
Aviv in Israel this September to take part in an intensive accelerator program.”
Based out of the SOSA co-working space in Tel Aviv, the accelerator program will give NSW startups
the competitive edge to help take their products global.
It will include meetings with investors, strategic partners and potential customers as well as
networking opportunities and attendance at the largest international innovation industry event of the
year in Israel – the DLD Innovation Festival.
If selected, startups will receive return airfares and accommodation for 10 nights as well as a 10 day,
personally curated and intensive program. Applications are open until 10 July with successful
applicants to be advised on 24 July 2017.
Startups that participated in last year’s Tel Aviv Landing Pad program will attend Monday’s event to
talk about their experiences and successes.
“We will have representatives from companies including Sail and Meeco, as well as representatives
from the NSW Department of Industry to explain the program and application process and answer
any questions,” Mr Blair said.
“Tel Aviv is one of the most mature tech ecosystems in the world and this is an opportunity not to be
missed by fintech and cyber security startup entrepreneurs.”
