CAST
The characters in a play. These are identified
in a script by name followed by a colon.
SCRIPT
The written form of a play.
DIALOGUE
Characters’ spoken words in a play.
STAGE
DIRECTIONS
Tells an actor what to do but is not
spoken. Usually in italics and in
(parenthesis).
SCENE
A section of a play.
STAGE RIGHT
A stage direction that means the actor’s right
& the audience’s left.
STAGE LEFT
A stage direction that means an actor’s
left and the audience’s right.
