Overview of CDF Nepal
Community Development Forum (CDF) Nepal, a national level professional Nongovernmental Organization located in Silgadhi, Doti district of Nepal. CDF was established in
1994 by a group of people who have had wide & profound experience in community
development activities at the grass roots level, especially in the contest of far western region
of Nepal. It was registered at the District Administration Office is (Reg. No. 36 ) focussing on
socio-economical development issues of rural communities. This encompasses leadership
training, community mobilization for income generating activities including technological

assistance with livestock, high value cash crops for Poverty alleviation and rural infrastructure
upgrading. Equally addressed are health & sanitation issues, HIV/AIDS, as well as Human
Rights and Advocacy on Gender and cast based discrimination and Peace & Development,
as well as concerns about climate change impact on agriculture, forests and water.
CDF has initiated community development activities in a partnership approach with district
local level government agencies and NGOs as well as those on the National level.

To enhance the existing social and economic challenges to improve the life style of community.
Goal
Following are the Goals of CDF in the long-term program implementation.



Gender equity, Environment and empowerment of disadvantage group (i.e. Dalit,
Women, Poor, and migrants)
Identification Of resources and proper utilization from local label.
Extension relationship and help for external, physical human resource for development
of organization.
Objectives:
The objectives of the organization shall be as follows:
(a) To conduct income oriented programs for uplifting all kinds of poor and backward groups in
the community.
(b) To conduct awareness increasing programs by conducting awareness programs for human
being
(c) To make efforts to eliminate superstitions and bad customs existing in the community.
(d) To conduct skill oriented, income generating, and employment creating programs focusing
on the optimum utilization of local resources which will support on establishing prosperous and
independent community.

(e) To actively mobilize the community for improving reconstruction of different public places,
conserving geographical tourist places and to promote and conserve ancient, aesthetic and
heritage.
(f) To conduct awareness programs to make community aware about AIDS.
(g) To improve the status of communicable diseases that are known as epidemics, family
planning, nutrition, education, immunization and safe motherhood including other health related
subjects that are linked with disabled, family and community.
(h) To improve the educational status as needed in the community.
(i) To construct the infrastructure for road, bridge, building, renewable energy etc. to add in
infrastructure development.
(j) To preserve the natural resources and geological conservation.
(k) To develop the status of community through social mobilization.
(L) To aware the community on legal and human rights declare by the government.
(M) To conduct awareness programs regarding making people and individuals aware about
smoking, drinking alcohol, drug abuse, gambling etc.
(N) To assemble possible help and participate in natural disaster evacuation.
(O) To preserve the right of women, dalit, children and disadvantage group in the community.
(P) To provide financial, physical help as well as moral support to developmental works
conducted by Government of Nepal and national and foreign individuals or organizations.
