Long Course Last Chance Meet

Held under the sanction of USA Swimming Inc. Sanction No. 2013-093
Location:
Olympic Training Center, 1 Olympic Plaza, Colorado Springs, CO. 80909.
10 lane, 50 meter competition pool. Depending on number of participants, the meet will be
swum in 8 or 9 lanes, leaving up to 2 lanes available for warm up/ warm down during the meet.
Pool altitude is 6035 Ft. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with USA
Swimming regulation 104.2.2C(4). Pool depth at each end is 6 feet 7 inches.
Timing:
Colorado Timing System with touch pads, buttons and an electronic scoreboard, and back up
watches.
Eligibility:
Open to all invited swimmers holding a 2013 USA Swimming membership card and currently
registered members of the MSL. Age as of July 21, 2013 will determine the swimmer’s age for
the meet. Any CSI/USA Swimming registration errors must be corrected by Tuesday, July 16th
with the Meet Entry Chair. Teams will be notified via e-mail regarding registration errors. Any
swimmer appearing on the CSI exceptions report without registration must come to the meet
prepared to show their card or they will be deck registered before they can enter the water.
Deck registration will be available for $80 annual membership; or $40 for a seasonal
membership. Checks are made payable to CSI.
Rules:
Current USA and Colorado Swimming rules will govern the meet. The Meet Referee will have
final authority for all swimming procedures of the meet. All events will be timed finals. All
events will be run slowest to fastest. Deck entries for individual events will be allowed at the
discretion of the Meet Director. Events will not be reseeded and no additional heats will be
created to accommodate deck entries. Swimmers may only race in events for which they are
eligible. Deck entries must be submitted to the Clerk of Course no later than 30 minutes prior to
the scheduled start of the session in which the event is to be swum. The use of audio or visual
recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or
locker rooms. On deck changing is not allowed. Any swimmer entered in the meetmust be
certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or
must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is
the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with
this requirement.
According to Safe Sport best practices, photography will not be allowed behind the starting
blocks. Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits
other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is not appropriate and is prohibited.
Entry Fees:
Individual entries:
$4.00/event.
Deck entries:
$5.00/event.
Pool Surcharge:
$6.00/swimmer.
Please make one check payable to Colorado Springs Swim Team ($.75 of each individual entry
to CSI support fund).
Entries:
Swimmers may enter up to 5 events per day. Entries will be limited to 180 swimmers in each
session, as per OTC requirements. We do reserve the right to turn away swimmers if our entry
limit is reached. Teams will be notified by the Entry Chair if any, or all, of their desired entries
cannot be accommodated due to the 180 swimmer per session limitation.
OTC Waiver:
Every swimmer must sign the attached OTC Waiver and return to the computer table prior to
the start of warm-up for respective session. If you have already signed a 2013 OTC Waiver for a
previous meet or your team trains at the OTC, it is not necessary to sign the waiver.

Emailed entries prepared using Hy-Tek or Team Unify is required. E-mail entries must be
received by the Entry Chair by Tuesday, July 16th.
Entry fee checks and a printed copy of entries: due by the beginning of Session 1
warm-up Sunday, July 21st.
Awards:
There will be no awards for this meet.
Scoring:
No score will be kept.
Timing:
Each team participating in this meet is expected to provide timers for one or more lanes for
each session at which they have swimmers. Teams will be notified of their lane timing
assignments by Wednesday, July 17th.
Warm-up Procedure:
Current USA/CSI procedures will be followed. Designated safety marshals will supervise the
warm-up sessions. There will be two 25 minute general warm-up sessions for each session of
the meet. Each team will be given lane assignments commensurate to team size, and can use
the 25 minutes warm up as they see fit, in keeping with USA Swimming and CSI rules for general
warm up. USA Swimming athlete members must be under the supervision of a USA Swimming
member coach during warm-up, competition, and warm-down. Any swimmers without a coach
must report to the Meet Director or Meet Referee to make arrangements for such supervision.
Warm-up lane assignments and warm-up times will be emailed to teams and posted on the
CSST website by Wednesday, July 17th.

Programs will be available for $2.00
Results:
Meet results will be posted on the CSST website within 48 hours of the conclusion of the meet
and emailed to each team within 3 days of the conclusion of the meet. Results are not official
until approved by CSI.

Depending on the size of the meet, Session 2 may be moved to an earlier time.
Directions to pool:
Take the Uintah Exit off I-25, go east to Nevada, and go right (south). Take a left on Boulder
and follow east until you pass Memorial Hospital. The OTC entrance is on the left just past
Memorial. Ask the security guard at the gate for directions to the pool.

Last Chance Entries:
This Last Chance Meet satisfies the CSI entry deadline for last chance entries for the upcoming
State Championship meet. All new state qualifying times must be turned in along with the
correct payment submitted to the Meet Director at the Last Chance Meet BEFORE the end of
the meet. Updating previously entered times is not permitted. Meet Entry Chair will forward
all last chance qualifications to the LC State meet Entry Chair. (Entries will not be accepted
from individuals or teams, only from last chance host).
