Margaret (Mimi) Welter, LCSW
Margaret (Mimi) Welter, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a
Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in Social Work from the University of Kentucky,
completed in 1986. Ms. Welter began her career in Maryland where she worked
on an in-patient psychiatric unit followed by work in the Social Work Department
at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her experience in Kentucky includes providing services
in a community mental health setting, as a clinician in emergency psychiatry at the
University of Louisville Hospital and as a research assistant working on bipolar
disorder. She joined Shelby Counseling Associates in 2005. Through individual and
marital therapy for adults of all ages, Ms. Welter uses both cognitive behavioral
and solution focused therapies to address anxiety, depression, mood disorders,
and adjustment to life changes and challenges.
