Cross Play™ Wireless Adapter User Guide Introduction Cross Play Wireless Adapter from Datel is an ingenious device that allows you to use a guitar designed for Guitar Hero on the Wii with either Guitar Hero or Rock Band on the Wii or PS3. The Cross Play Wireless Adapter consists of a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver. The transmitter is shaped like a Wii Remote so that it will fit into your Wii Guitar Hero guitar and the receiver has a USB lead to connect it to your Wii or PS3. The receiver has a 3 way switch that you set according to the game and console you will use Cross Play with. How to Use Before you use Cross Play you will need to insert 2 x AAA batteries into the back of the Cross Play transmitter. Ensure correct orientation of the batteries. Synching the Controller and Console Depending upon the game and console you will be using Cross Play with, the receiver switch position and synching sequence will vary. Follow the correct instructions below for your game and console: Game Console What to do Rock Band PS3 1. Turn your PS3 on with no game inserted. 2. Slot the Cross Play transmitter into your Wii guitar, connecting the guitar lead to the Nunchuk port as you do. 3. Connect the Cross Play receiver to a USB port on the front of your PS3. 4. Set the switch on the receiver to position ‘1’. 5. Press the SYNC button on the Cross Play transmitter. The SYNC LED on the receiver will illuminate continuously once synching has occurred. 6. Start Rock Band. Guitar Hero PS3 1. Turn your PS3 on with no game inserted. 2. Slot the Cross Play transmitter into your Wii guitar, connecting the guitar lead to the Nunchuk port as you do. 3. Connect the Cross Play receiver to a USB port on the front of your PS3. 4. Set the switch on the receiver to position ‘2’. 5. Press the SYNC button on the Cross Play transmitter. The SYNC LED on the receiver will illuminate continuously once synching has occurred. 6. Start Guitar Hero. Rock Band Wii 1. Turn your Wii on with no game inserted. 2. Slot the Cross Play transmitter into your Wii guitar, connecting the guitar lead to the Nunchuk port as you do. 3. Connect the Cross Play receiver to a USB port on the back of your Wii. 4. Set the switch on the receiver to position ‘3’. 5. Insert your Rock Band game disc and start the game. 6. Press the SYNC button on the Cross Play transmitter. The SYNC LED on the receiver will illuminate continuously once synching has occurred. Guitar Hero Wii Don’t connect either part of the Cross Play. Use your Wii Remote and guitar as normal. Notes: If the connection fails, make sure you have followed the steps above correctly and repeat if necessary. For playing instructions, see the manual that came with your game. Function Buttons To enable your Wii Guitar Hero guitar to access all the features used in the various games, you will need to use Cross Play’s function buttons. Use the table below to identify which function buttons access which features in your game. F1 F2 Rock Band PS3 (1) Guitar Hero PS3 (2) Rock Band Wii (3) Tilt Tilt Tilt Equivalent of tiling the guitar up. Use to activate ‘Overdrive’. Equivalent of tiling the guitar up. Use to activate ‘Star Power’. Equivalent of tiling the guitar up. Use to activate ‘Overdrive’. Fret Shift Not used Fret Shift Equivalent to using the Fender™ Stratocaster™ ‘Solo’ buttons. Turn the guitar’s normal fret buttons into special ‘Solo’ buttons. F3 5-Way Switch Equivalent to using the Fender™ Stratocaster™ ‘Solo’ buttons. Turn the guitar’s normal fret buttons into special ‘Solo’ buttons. Not used Equivalent to cycling through the positions on the Fender™ Stratocaster™ 5-way switch. F4 5-Way Switch Equivalent to cycling through the positions on the Fender™ Stratocaster™ 5-way switch. Home Home Home Return to the PS3 home menu. Return to the PS3 home menu.
