Business Strategy Game Promotes Spirit of Enterprise among
Youth
ITE, in collaboration with Shell LiveWIRE, will be hosting the annual MoneyPoLITE
Challenge on Fri 19 July 2013 at ITE College West. This is an engaging platform where
students can experience hands-on learning of revenue-cost-profit relationships and the
factors that drive profitability. It also enhances the students’ understanding of the strategies
needed for competing successfully in a competitive business environment.
37 teams from secondary schools will showcase their entrepreneurial skills and knowledge
while vying for the top award.
MoneyPoLITE is an interactive business game that aims to promote the spirit of enterprise in
young people so that they can learn in a fun and experiential way. It was developed seven
years ago by Mr George Balongay, a Lecturer at ITE College West’s School of Business &
Services. Each game component simulates the real business environment. Participants are
required to analyse the impact each of their business decisions has on the profitability of the
business. The game can be configured to cater to the participants’ differing abilities.
Secondary school students, ITE students and adult learners have all benefited from the
challenge. It is also able to create new scenarios to reflect the current economic situations
in the world.
Members of the media are kindly invited to cover the MoneyPoLITE Games Finals and learn
more about this fun and interactive learning tool. Details of the event are as follows:
