SEASON 2013/14
Report for week ended 15 September 2013
Under 10s – Tipton Youth maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign to go clear at the top of
the Autumn League table, an Alex Morgan goal giving them a 1-0 victory over FC Perton, while goals
from Charlie Banner and Jay Norgrove secured them a second victory, again without reply, beating
Punjab United, 2-0. AFC Willenhall are just a point behind the leaders, after beating Wednesfield 5-0
with goals from Ryan Wright, Rhys Danks, Jamie Cresswell, and a brace from James Blower, their
second game, where victory would see them go top, saw them lose out to a solitary Kane Coulter
strike, going down 0-1 to Sedgley White Lions. That victory for the Lions, coupled with their earlier
victory over Springvale, sees them climb to third. Connor Galvin and Travis Pitt netted for Sedgley,
with Kian Lampitt replying for Springvale. That defeat was Springvale's second of the day, having lost
out to Punjab United earlier, 2-3, Jordan Kaye hitting a hat trick for Punjab, while Tyrone Bull and Kian
Lampitt finding the net for Springvale. Ashmore Park Rangers ended the day unbeaten, but didn't win
either! Both their games, against Wednesbury Sports Union and Wednesfield FC, ended 0-0, a rarity
for this age. That point for Wednesbury, added to the three picked up in their earlier game against FC
Perton, which they won 4-0, with goals Josh Fletcher, Karol Blicharski and two from Jay Chambers,
takes them into fourth place.
Under 11s – In the East Division, Willenhall United's 4-1 victory over Tipton Town sees them lead the
division with maximum points from two games, two goals for Tafari McAlla, plus strikes from Kaine
Allen and Josh Kilford secured the win, with Lachian Clemmens replying for Tipton. Emerald FC
kicked off their league campaign in style with a 17-0 romp over Punjab United. Luka Williams hitting a
magnificent seven, while both Matthew Millward and Shea Hegarty notched hat tricks, with Haseem
Afzal adding two more, completed by single strikes from Brandon Manboard and Thomas Orgill.
Springvale Pumas also won their opening league game of the campaign with two goals from Liam
Simpson and one each from Jake Edwards and Chad Smith securing a 4-1 victory over
Wolverhampton United. Sedgley White Lions also found goals easy to come by in their first game of
the season, with a 9-0 victory over Springvale Lions. Jack Mills and Harvey Cooper grabbed a hat
trick each, with two more from Harry Smith and Kyle Hodgkinson completed the scoring. The opening
exchanges of the game were fairly even as Sedgley struggled to settle, clearly a little ring rusty with
lack of playing time. They created several early chances Jack Mills had a shot pushed round the post
for a corner, Kyle Hodgkinson forced a good save with a snap shot from distance then Kieran Gelder
shrugged off two challenges and forced the Springvale keeper to make a good save. Sedgley then
started to dominate and Jack Mills slotted a shot just past the post, Charlie Aldridge set up Jack in
front of goal but the goalie managed a fine save low down to his right. Harry Smith then hammered a
left foot shot just past the post. With 20 minutes played Sedgley got the breakthrough their play
deserved Harvey Cooper muscled his way past three defenders and rifled an accurate shot wide of
the diving keeper and into the corner of the net. Although Springvale rarely threatened Joshua Lee
was called upon to make three first half saves. Just prior to the interval break Sedgley added to their
advantage a long Joshua Lee kick from hands caused havoc in the Springvale rear guard and
resulted in a free kick. Alfie Jacques free kick picked out Jack Mills who shot hit the base of the post
and Harvey Cooper was on hand to ram the rebound ball home from close range. In the second half
Sedgley gradually got back to their fluent best in the first five minutes Dan Hickman, Jack Mills and
Kyle Hodgkinson all put shots just the wrong side of the upright and Jack Mills hit the side netting with
a shot from an acute angle. The Sedgley defence were also back to their best and superb back
tracking by Charlie Aldridge and Alfie Jacques who had clearly got the better of the Springvale strikers
for pace snuffed out rare Springvale attacks. Harry Smith revelling in the space afforded to him on the
left flank beat the Springvale right back for pace and crossed for Jack Mills to stab home for a third
goal for Sedgley and their fourth followed quickly braking with pace and quickly turning defence into
attack Jack Merrick picked out Dan Hickman in space, he ran on goal and crossed for Harry Smith to
bury his shot giving the Springvale keeper no chance. Their fifth goal was a mirror image of the fourth
with Jack Merrick and Dan Hickman acting as the supply line for Harry Smith to score. Kieran Gelder
forced a good save when he headed a corner goal wards then Kieran became goal provider teeing up
for Harvey Cooper to tap home. Joshua Merrick was given his League debut in goal for the final ten
minutes as reward for some fine performances in training and didn’t let anyone down as he
maintained the clean sheet that the lads had worked so hard to achieve. Sedgley were now in total
control and threatened a goal on every break. Harry Smith’s pace was causing Springvale all sorts of
problems and he was once again goal provider chipping over for Jack Mills who made no mistake with
a close range header for goal number seven. Sedgley’s eighth goal was goal of the game Kyle
Hodgkinson picked up the ball in midfield and cut right through the Springvale back line beating no
less than four players before converting with a powerful cross shot. There was still time left on the
clock for Jack Mills to complete his hat trick after being set up by Dan Hickman.
In the West Division, New Park Village and Springvale Cougars share top spot, both having maximum
points from their two games played,. New Park Village enjoyed a 4-1 win over Coven United, with two
goals for Kyle Balmer, and singles from Dante Hawthorne and Amari Ebanks-Blake. Kyle Bleheim
replied for Coven. Springvale shared a seven goal thriller in their game against Forest Star, and
despite goals from Connor Andrews, Joshua Smith and Reece Perry for Forest, strikes from Shane
Tandy and a Harvey Singh hat trick took the points for the Cougars. Wednesbury Sports Union hit
four without reply in their game versus FC Perton, two goals from Byron Ellis, and goals from Alfie
Harwood and Joshua Howard securing the points. The final West Division game saw a tight affair
played out between Liddar Sports and St Joseph's Colts, Liddar just shading it, 2-1, with Dylan Gill
getting them both, while Robbie Hickman replied for the Colts.
Under 12s – Shelfield United continue their impressive start to the campaign, travelling to Springvale
Jaguars, and despite going a goal down in difficult conditions, with Callum Kitson scoring for the
Jaguars, Shelfield gained their composure and managed to get back on level terms through Reagan
Wardle just before the break. The second half being controlled by the visitors, with Reagan bagging
three more goals to see Shelfield eventually run out 4-1 winners, with all four goals coming from
Reagan Wardle. Tipton Youth share top spot with Shelfield, having hit St Joseph's Colts for a dozen
without reply, amongst the goals for Tipton, we saw a four goal salvo from Jack Whittaker, a brace
apiece from Cory McKella and Cole Weston, and singles from Brad Holland, Luke Beighton, Nathan
Strong and Tom Embury. In the final game New Park Village returned from their short trip to Parkfield
Panthers with all three points, courtesy of a 7-1 victory, with Jayden Williams grabbing a hat trick, and
Luke Madelin going one better, scoring four. Nathan Sutton replied for Parkfields.
Under 13s – With most teams involved in the first round of the divisional cups there was just a solitary
League game played in the Premier Division and it was honours even in a thrilling game between
Wolverhampton United and Old Wulfrunians South, the game ending all square at 3-3. Sam HaytonCox, Tom Harley and Jason Harris were on target for Wolverhampton, while Old Wulfs levelled with
goals from Kieran O'Connell and a brace from Carrick Chaney. In the Premier Division Cup, Black
Country Ravens progressed in impressive style, returning from Warstones Wanderers with an 11-0
victory. On target for the Ravens were Anthony Orjally, Lewis Howell, Jenson Griffiths, Alex Pile, two
for Osaris Jackson, and five for Connor Pugh. Joining the Ravens in Round 2 are Bentley Youth, 6-3
victors at Ashmore Park Rangers, with a hat trick for Zach Whitehouse, plus goals for Jack Adams,
Ryan Perry and Joe Baker with Ashley Worley, Matthew Pugh and Tyler Mills replying for Ashmore. St
Joseph's Colts edged a five goal thriller against Wednesfield Wolves, two goals for Callum Marcou
and one for Callum Westwood seeing St Joseph's through, while Jacob Fisher and Bradley Shinton
were on target for Wednesfield. In the Division One competition it was all away victories, Liddar
Sports securing a 3-0 win at Coven United, thanks to goals from Rory Arora, Tyrese McKenzie and
Kurran Purewal. Parkfield Panthers went to Sedgley White Lions and progressed via a 6-0 score line,
the goals coming from Shiloh Coleman, Jaidev Dhaliwal, and two each for Jack Riley and Liam
Stewart. The final tie saw Greets Green Albion travel to Springvale Steelers, and aided by a Man of
the Match performance from Shawn Harvey, secured a 7-2 victory. Shawn scored three himself and
created two more, the other goals coming from Devante Gordon, Jamal Lewis and two for Nathan
Cooke. Liam Baker and Ryan Bailey were on target for Springvale.
Under 14s – Three teams share top spot in the U14s Premier Division, all with maximum points. New
Park Village maintained their winning start to the season with an 8-2 victory, away at Tipton Youth.
Four goals for Ryan Abrams, two for Troydne Grizzle, and one apiece for Jack Bolger and Levi
Matthews secured the win, with Liam Davies and Ross Smith replying for Tipton. Warstones East and
FC Perton both hit eleven without reply; FC Perton dismissed Sedgley White Lions, with goals
from four goals from Lieghtye Wilson, a hat trick from Diarmuid Hehir, a brace from Alex HarveyBeach and strikes from Jordan Astbury, and Reuben Aldridge. Warstones 11 came at the expense of
Forest Star, with a five goal salvo from Brendan Malpass, a hat trick from Amani O'Connor, a double
strike from Oshane Bailey and a single from Jabari Spence. The final Premier game brought a 9-1
home victory for Wednesbury Sports Union, over Perton & Codsall East. Jack Dew got the Perton &
Codsall goal, while the Wednesbury goals came via a Ryan Matthews treble, doubles from Ryan
Hughes and Jordan Silence and singles from Jordan Henry and Liam Eagles. In Division One Punjab
United lead the pack with maximum points, following their second successive 1-0 victory this time a
well contested game saw them take the points when they entertained Salisbury Rangers, Cameron
Banga getting the all important goal. AFC Woodcross also enjoyed a solitary goal victory in their
opening league game of the campaign, Connor Taylor's goal getting the points against Charles
United. Coven United also opened up their campaign with a victory when Jackson Game bagged all
four goals to see off the threat of Greets Green FC, 4-2 with Corey Titley and Daniel Winter getting
the goals for the hosts. The final game saw Gunners FC go nap in their opening home game against
Wednesbury Sports Union Rangers, winning 5-0, with goals from Jacob Kirwan, Harry Fellows,
Michael Price, and two from Ryan Wain.
Under 15s – In the Premier Division, new boys Dudley Sports Dynamo had their shooting boots
polished, as they enjoyed a 9-0 home win over Rosehill Raiders. James Williams and Connor
Harlington both hit a brace, with singles from Lopes Massampo, George Taylor, Lewis Sidebottom,
Junaid Tariq and Jordon Boffey. Sporting Khalsa travelled to New Park Village and recorded an
impressive 5-0 victory, Ben Grice and Callum Baker both grabbing a brace, with Jacob Rammell the
other scorer and the Khalsa keeper, Aiden Thomas, also saved a Village penalty to keep a clean
sheet for Khalsa. It was honours even in the game between Bustleholme and Sedgley Scorpions,
Bustleholme took the lead from the penalty spot, but on the hour a Brandon Guy free kick from the
half way line was on target for Scorpions. Tipton Youth enjoyed an 8-1 home win over Wednesfield
FC, while at Sedgley White Lions we saw a thrilling game as the hosts entertained Champions Old
Hall Eagles. Sedgley took the lead through Erjon Rrahmani, but five minutes later Old Hall equalised
through Jack Squire. Right on half time Sedgley regained the lead with a volley from Harry Gallier.
After the restart Sedgley increased their lead with Rrahmani chipping the keeper for his second of the
game. A Connor Wilkes penalty brought Old Hall back into the game, but a fourth Sedgley goal from
Luke Farrington made the game safe for the hosts. In Division One four teams share top spot with
new comers Wolverhampton United hitting the goal trail at Great Barr Harriers taking the points with
hat tricks from Kye Gardiner and Max Woodhall, a brace from Liam Rounds and singles from Tyriq
Miller, Matthew Little and Jamie Lakin. After opening their Bilston League account last week with an
impressive victory over AFC Woodcross Rostance Edwards had a much closer game when they
entertained Wednesbury Rhinos and it was the Rhinos that took the points with a close 2-1 victory.
The other team to kick off their league campaign with a victory were Silverdale Bullets who enjoyed
an away day at AFC Woodcross East, with a 5-3 victory, Callum Dent netting four times, Khenan
Downie getting the other. Ethan Collins and Liam Piper (2) replying for Woodcross. The remaining
game in the division ended all square with a strike from Callum Tudor for the Dragons matched by a
goal from Jordan Lavell for Woodcross. In Division Two, home wins was the order of the day in the
opening set of league fixture, Pelsall Villa beat Bustleholme Galaxy 7-1, while 6-1 was the score line
between Springvale Steelers and St Joseph's Colts. A hat trick for Josh Breeze, two for Jake
Whitehouse and one for Zac Davies completed the Springvale scoring, while James Rutter-Corbett
got the Colts consolation. Perton & Codsall West entertained Parkfield Panthers, recording an
impressive 8-2 victory, with Henry Worrall netting five, and single strikes for Sisqo Lambert, Aaron
Leslie and Murtazza Sharifi. Braidyn Rhodes got both for the Panthers. Prestwood Rangers complete
the Under 15s results, where goals from Sandeep Chander, Josh Matthews and Edison Isaac
secured them a 3-0 win over new comers Bloxwich Rangers.
Under 16s – New Park Village top the Autumn League Premier Division, a 4-2 away win at Tipton
Youth maintaining their 100% start. A McCaun hat trick and a goal from Blakewall securing all three
points, Ensor and Grew replying for Tipton. Rosehill Raiders lay joint second following a 6-3 home win
over Wolverhampton Colts, while Wombourne Warriors’ 5-3 win over Wednesbury Sports Union see
them share that second spot. Two goals for Smith and Newton, aided by a goal from McSherry
secured the points, with Smith, Falconer and Mayou scoring for Wednesbury. Parkfield Panthers and
Cresswell Wanderers shared the spoils, with a 0-0 draw. In Division One unbeaten Greets Green
Albion occupy top spot following a 3-1 victory at Black Country Ravens, Cameron, Davies and Dixon
getting the goals, with Griffiths scoring for Ravens. Four teams are then just a point adrift of the
leaders, with Short Heath Rangers enjoying a convincing 9-2 victory in their opening league game
against Danesmore Casuals with a treble from Massey, a double from Hunt and singles from Joshua
Lewis, Nathan Lewis, Walker and Shirley. Kelly and Lascom replied for Danesmore. Coven United
matched that score, recording a 9-2 win when they entertained Sandwell United, a Gibson hat trick,
two for Haynes and goals for Hussain, Hague-Jones, Hague and Mapunzamoyo completing the
scoring, Ryan and Cross netting for Sandwell. Hawkins Sports complete the line-up, having recorded
a 6-2 victory at Punjab United. A Richards' hat trick, and goals from Stobart, Morgan and Davies for
Hawkins, and a brace for Paudel for Punjab.
Under 17s – Silverdale Tigers and Willenhall United top the table, both unbeaten to date. Willenhall
maintained their 100% start in emphatic fashion, beating Wednesbury Raiders, 11-1, with hat tricks
for Charlie Hemmings and Daniel Hall, complemented by goals from Jack Wooldridge, Troy Gardner,
Dushanan Deans, Liam Hunt and Lewis James. Harry James-Homer got the Wednesbury
consolation. Silverdale also enjoyed a home victory, beating PRD Colts 4-1, the goals coming from
Jack Dale, Karl Lanford, Jamie Cooke and Tom Sargeant. Clarke Elliot replied for PRD. Sporting
Harriers edged a close game with Vic Viperz, 2-1, Rix and Smith netting for Harriers, Liam Reeves for
Viperz. Springvale Steelers beat Old Wulfrunians, with four goals from Jayden Mcalla securing the
points in a 4-2 victory, Frazer Kelly getting both the Wulf's goals. New Park Village and Beacon
Rangers played out a nine goal thriller, Beacon just edging it 5-4, with goals from Lewis Lowe (4) and
Thomas Battison.
Under 18s – After the opening set of league fixtures Featherstone RWB and PRD United are joint
leaders of the U18s table, with Featherstone recording an impressive 8-0 home win over Wednesfield
FC, with Chris Dean scoring four of them, the others coming from Josh Atkins, Brynn Taylor, Rhys
Potts and Jack Coyne. PRD meanwhile travelled to Bustleholme Rangers, and returned with the
points courtesy of a hard earned 2-1 victory, Dhillon scoring both goals for the visitor with Harry Hurst
netting for Rangers. Wolverhampton United and Shire Oak Saints served up an eight goal thriller, with
honours ending even after a 4-4 draw. Finding the net for Wolverhampton was Liam O'Sullivan with a
brace, Lewis Kirk-Patrick and Connor Burns. Replying for the Saints was Kristian Parker with two,
Callum Whelan and Kieron Hunt.
Under 21s – Springvale Cougars were the big winners of the day, beating stable mates, Springvale
Jaguars 7-1, with goals from two goals apiece from Bousefield, Foreshaw and Hughes and one from
Stevens with Bradley replying for the Jaguars. NC Sports travelled to Stone Cross Ssaints, and a 4-2
victory saw them return with all three points, with goals from Millward, Jones, and a brace from
Cashmore. Crawford and Duckett the Stone Cross scorers. Great Barr Harriers entertained Pelsall
Villa, and a 3-1 win saw them take the points, the Harriers scorers were May, Willis and Hall, with
Osbourne netting for Pelsall. Charles United just edged a five goal game against Bilbrook Juniors, 32, courtesy of goals from Shaikh, and a pair from Caddy. Galloway and Cook netting for Bilbrook.
Equally close was the game between Coseley Colts and Wolverhampton United, Coseley just edging
it 4-3, Poole scoring twice, plus goals from Cooper and Lockers with Merit , Lawton and Stanton
replying for Wolverhampton. The final game saw AFC Tipton play host to FC Premier, where the
home side dominated, securing a 4-1 victory, through goals from Handley, Rollason, Freeman and
Beasley, with Bardsley getting the Premier consolation.
