Leicester League Venue Organiser, Umpire and Scorer
Role Description
Last Mans Stands Leicester league are looking to recruit a venue organiser to be present on evenings during
the league season.
Last Man Stands is a global 8 a-side twenty20 social cricket game played over approximately 2 hours and 15
minutes and there are currently in excess of 1000 teams and 20,000 players playing LMS in 5 countries around
the world. The game appeals mainly to lapsed players who no longer have the time to commit to weekend
club cricket and to players new to the game.
Payments
Umpiring fee -
£18 per game that you Umpire & Score
Venue organiser fee -
£10 per session / evening in addition to your umpiring fee.
Selected Match day during the league season. Mid May – Late August 17.45hrs – 20:30hrs.
Before the game
Complete umpire and scorer training to ensure you know the rules of the game, how to apply them and how
to use the score sheet
Confirm the availability of the pitches
Have the contact numbers for all team captains and venue staff
Arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of play
Set up the stumps, boundary markers and check the safety of the pitches and outfields
Provide a new LMS ball (and spares) for the game
Wear your LMS umpires shirt
Have a clipboard, score sheet and pens
Meet and greet the captains and players and ensure they are all ready to start on time
During the game
Keep the score sheet fully up to date at all times
Call out the team score at the end of each over
Call out the time left for the innings every 15 minutes
Maintain an attitude of ‘friendly authority’ to ensure that all players enjoy their game
After the game
Retrieve the ball and keep as a spare for other games
Collect other equipment and store safely
Ensure the ground is left neat and tidy
Update the LMS website with results and player statistics within 24hrs

League runs from mid May to mid August
Games start at 18:00 and finish by 20:30. Training will provided..
We are looking for a trustworthy, reliable person with good people skills and a good understanding of
cricket.
No formal qualifications required.
