Provenzono met at dean’s council for move GE forward. b. Q2S office met with COE AAS/ASCs and discuss Q2S c. Rumor dispelled, special consultant/professional development monies are released when curriculum is submitted. 3. Graduate Students a. Graduate Coordinators support a mixed model recommendation for normative units. b. Discussion took place about financial aid considerations and full/half-time status with regards to class weighting. c. Full/half time status (minimum degree requirements: 30-units) i. Possibilities: 1. 4-units for half-time and 8-units for full time (0 for) 2. 3-units for half-time and 8-units for full time 3. 3-units for half-time and 6-units for full time (12 for) 4. Financial concerns need addressed ASAP ii. Discussion included: FTE, financial aid, tuition fees, international students, fee waiver, time to completion, iii. Qualtrics poll to gauge feelings of the group; graduate programs are on track 1 and expected to submit curriculum by the end of October. 4. Process for Exceptions (https://goo.gl/gPo3vE) a. The handout was explained. b. Would like on a process to specifically state grad programs are exempt. c. If a course is seeking exception, must also explain how it affects programs. d. Crucial to have a dean on the committee. e. Include chair and dean consultation on the form. f. Q2S steering committee member will help provide context. g. Recommended this committee exists for a limited time. h. Add comments section on form. i. Alternate version—set up a committee that addresses programs/courses whose dean’s do not approve. 5. Definition of Concentrations, Tracks, etc. (https://goo.gl/VDcRJR) a. Clarification for concentrations: i. a degree program does not have to have concentrations and have as many concentrations as needed. ii. the term that will be used to refer to a subcomponent of a concentration. b.
