Game Rules
The Team: 6 players. A team without 6 players will play with a disadvantage.
The Object: To eliminate all opposing players from the game by getting them "out". This may be done by:
1. Hitting an opposing player with a LIVE thrown ball below the shoulders.
2. Catching a LIVE ball thrown by your opponent.
LIVE = A ball that has been thrown and has not touched ANYTHING or ANYONE.
(We do not allow "head shots". If the ball comes in contact with an opposing player's head, the person throwing
the ball is out, BUT if the opposing player ducks or lowers his head and the ball hits his head, the player who
ducked will be out. This is not considered a "head shot" because the ball was not aimed at the head.)
The Game:
*Each game will last for either 3 minutes or until all of the players on one team have been eliminated.
*The playing area is represented by the full basketball court and its boundary lines.
*Each team starts behind the east and west boundary lines and must stay on their half of the court until otherwise
instructed.
*To begin each game, 2 balls will be placed on the half court line and each team will be given 3 balls as well.
*Players may cross the boundary lines only to retrieve balls. Once a player has retrieved the ball, he must cross
back into the playing area. Players may not cross the boundary lines to dodge a ball or run away from an
opponent. If a player goes out of the boundary lines for any reason besides ball retrieval, he will be declared out.
*Balls may be used to block an opponent’s shot.
*All balls must remain in continuous play. Intentional stalling of the game by holding or controlling the balls
is not permitted. If a player chooses to do this, he can be called out.
*The referee will let you know if you're "out". Please respect the referee's decisions. Their decisions are final.
*Once a player is out he must exit the playing area and sit in the designated "out" area.
*When 1 minute is left in the game, the referees will whistle and the players will be allowed to cross the center
line to contact opponents.
*The winning team is either the team with the last person on the court or the team with the most people left at
the end of the 3 minutes. (If both teams have the same amount of players remaining at the end of 3 minutes,
play will continue until the next person gets out - "sudden death".)
***We expect good sportsmanship. If, at any time during the tournament, a referee or team supervisor see a player display
unsportsmanlike conduct, they have the authority to eject a player from the game.
Tournament Play
6 teams or less will play in a Round Robin Tournament. Each team will play all of the other teams.
7 teams or more will play in a Double Elimination Tournament. Every team is guaranteed to play at least 2 games. Here
is a drawing of the 8 team Double Elimination Bracket.
