5-a-side soccer – indoor and outdoor

1. Premiership points
1.1. Three (3) points shall be awarded for a win.
1.2. Two (2) for a score draw.
1.3. One (1) for a scoreless draw.
1.4. None (0) for a loss
2. Final placings at the completion of round robin matches
2.1. To determine the final positions, teams shall be placed in descending order according to the
number of premiership points gained.
2.2. In the event of two teams gaining the same number of premiership points, the respective
placings shall be decided by the result of the match between the two teams concerned.
2.3. If the two teams had a draw when they played each other, the respective placing’s shall be
determined by penalty shoot-out (this will be held over the lunch break).
2.4. In the event of more than two teams gaining the same number of premiership points, the
respective placings shall be determined by goal difference (goals for minus goals against in
matches played between these sides).
2.5. In the event of there still being a tie for any placing at the end of the round robin which cannot
be resolved by applying all of the above, the team scoring the most goals (goals for minus goals
against in matches played between these sides).
2.6. In the event of there still being a tie for any placing at the end of the round robin which cannot
be resolved by applying all of the above, the team having the least number of goals scored
against them in the competition shall be placed higher.
3. Finals process for deciding a winner
3.1. In situations where there are no time constraints the process is:
a. If scores are tied when full time is called and time permits, play two minutes each way
‘golden goal’ i.e. the first team to score within the extra playing time wins. If there is still no
winner the penalty shoot-out will occur.
3.2. In situations where there are no time constraints the process is:
b. Should there still be a tie at the end of full time, penalty shots will be taken, i.e. 5 alternate
penalties taken, one each from different players. These 5 can be any of the team members,
not restricted to the 5 on the field at the end of the game.
c. If scores are still tied, sudden death penalties commencing from player no 1 through to 5 will
be taken in the same order.
d. Repeat if necessary.
