Test Administration Procedures for 2015-16
• To report industry certifications, the following procedures must be
followed for all written examinations:
– Exam is not proctored by the individual providing the direct instruction for
the industry certification or certificate, except under extremely limited
conditions.
• If only one individual is approved by the certifying agency as a proctor,
the teacher may proctor the exams and must be independently
monitored by a second individual who does not provide direct
instruction for the industry certification content to the individuals
taking the test(s).
– Exam questions are delivered in a secure manner and paper-based tests
are not available to the proctor for an extended period of time.
– Exam is scored by certifying agency (cannot be scored by anyone at the
district).
– Exam is administered in accordance with the certifying agency procedures.
– Exam must not have administered more than 3 times during the
academic year with a minimum of 20 days between test administrations.
*DOE has changed wait time from 30 to 20 days
between exam attempts except for CNA (Nursing)

• M-DCPS CTE is adding Toon Boom Animation
certification for 2015-16
• Adobe Photoshop has been moved to MS as
Adobe801, Digital Certificate
• New Adobe Photoshop (cloud) is Adobe022
• IC3 Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications
and Living Online are now three separate tests as
Digital Certificates

Findings
Reporting of same student with same test in multiple periods
Student names appear in gradebook but not in vendor list
Student names appear on vendor list but not in gradebook
Teachers are only reporting P’s and not F’s (all ICE
taken/attempted must be reported)
Teachers are reporting student scores with more than one
version of test
Sign In: Username is student’s ID number and Password can
be last name (LN)
Careful with Proctor and Teacher name placement in Certiport
Difficulty obtaining “official results” from teachers such as
Serv Safe and exams taken at off-site test sites
Industry Certification Best Practices
• Schedule Industry Certification exams on school testing
calendar
• Exam scores for Nursing Assistant are monitored by the
Board of Nursing
• Plan for proctor teachers (coverage of class, etc.)
• Several Certiport delivered exams – a recent upgrade to
preparation software (G-Metrix)
