The Change Management Game The art of creating change What does it take to create change? Change processes are usually rather complicated. In fact, 70% of all change processes fail before they even make it to the finish. What is required to create those necessary changes successfully and be sure a change process really works? This simulation will allow you to experience the dynamics of a realistic change process. Find out what it is like designing and living through a change process. Discover in person the importance of support and commitment, experience the emotions released, resistance that follows. During this simulation you will learn which approach pays off and which one is not quite worth the effort. Find out about the most common pitfalls and the interventions required. You get to practise in a safe environment. In the end you will be able to use the knowledge and experience gained to carry out projects successfully. The game You work for a service company which is dedicated to solving customers’ problems. As the game unfolds, you find out there are lots of things going on. Are processes really efficient and effective? Are customers fully satisfied? Managers realise things need to be done differently. You are on the threshold of a change process. That is when the real simulation begins. Who will take the initiative and how are you going to deal with things? Participants speaking “A unique experience that not only approaches, but in fact exceeds reality.” Jochem Banki/ project manager “I’m still amazed at how strongly this simulation changes your actions and thoughts. You are exposed to serious stress. Very useful and great fun too.” Wessel Post/ consultant “This simulation has made me realise how careful one needs to proceed when it comes to introducing change. I experienced different emotions: change resistance, the not-inventedhere syndrome, anger about the communication style and lack of influence.” Rob Krantzen/ Consultant “It’s been quite an intensive experience and yes this method takes off reality properly.” Marjolein Kronenburg/ interim manager “This very realistic simulation has made me experience what it is like not being involved in changing my own process.” Bas Brabers/ Blackbelt six sigma How does the Change Game pay off? • An ineradicable reminder of turning points, pitfalls, the power of intervention and emotions released during change processes. • Understanding the main pitfalls during change processes. • Understanding and becoming aware of how staff experience change processes. • Understanding what causes ‘resistance to change’ and how to prevent resistance. • Understanding the effectiveness of the change team’s interventions. • Knowledge of the different stages of change processes and the essential components thereof.
