This year the Activities Boosters is holding a
fundraiser to raise awareness and funds for research
regarding Multiple Sclerosis, commonly known as MS. MS
affects approximately 2.3 million people worldwide.
Instead of a Pink Out night, Stomp Out MS will be
held during the January 26th home basketball game. Look
for a form to order t-shirts the first week school is back in
session. Lucky for us, the official color for MS is orange!
So, come support the Rocket basketball teams
and help us Stomp Out MS!
Secondary Remediation
The Book Fair is Coming!!
by Mr. Petersen
Beginning in the second semester, the secondary
students and faculty in grades 6-12 will be starting a new
remediation program for those students who are
currently earning a D+ or lower in any class.
The program will take place in the mornings and
will start at 7:40 or when students that ride the bus arrive.
It will last until the beginning of first period. This time will
be used for providing students individualized help with
the teacher in the class or classes they are struggling in.
Students will work with that teacher from 7:40-8 for the
entire week in order to increase their understanding of
the topic or subject and raise their grade as well.
If a student does not show up for remediation,
he or she will have to make up that instructional time,
either during the extra-curricular period or after school. It
is our hope that with this additional individualized time,
we will increase understanding in areas of struggle for all
students.
We continue to encourage all parents to
use JMC online in order to keep up with their students’
grades.
Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of
information and imagination and helps children
discover who they are. Here’s what you can do to
help children develop stronger reading skills and
a love for reading:
● Set the example. Let children see you read.
● Have a collection of books in your home.
Update this collection routinely to keep
pace with changing tastes and reading
skills.
● Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow
your children to choose their own
books to read.
Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that
brings the books kids want to read right into our
school. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and
affordable books for every reading level. Please
make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved
in shaping your child’s reading habits.
Dear Community Partners:
Every five years, Greene County Public Health
is responsible for developing a community health
improvement plan that addresses the health needs as
identified by county residents. It’s very important that
we reach a wide range of Greene county residents so
we can ensure each person has a “voice” in what
his/her own needs are and which health-related issues
should be a priority for the next five years.
We would appreciate feedback from you.

John Deere Raises over $1,700.00
toward P-C NHS Adopt-A-Family
The P-C NHS would like to thank John
Deere in Paton for their very generous donation
towards this years’ NHS Adopt-A-Family baskets
of cheer!
John Deere divided their staff into 3
teams who competed in “Money Wars” during
the month of December—ALL of the proceeds,
over $1,700.00 going towards P-C’s Adopt-AFamily program!!
The
money
raised
definitely added some extra “cheer” to our
baskets. We are so lucky to have this partnership
and could not be more thankful for their
generosity during this Christmas season.
Thank you to everyone who donated to
this awesome cause—your efforts remind us what
this giving season is really about!
