BOCCONI SOCCER CUP 2017 REGULATIONS AND REGISTRATION Registration ends: Wednesday 15 February 2017 1. Participants must be members of the Bocconi Sport Team for the 2016-2017 sports season. 2. Matches are played on the field at Palestra UniFit Bocconi Sport Team, entrance at Via Bocconi 12, Monday through Friday between 6:00pm and 11:00pm during the months of March, April and May 3. Each team must be made up of a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 10 Bocconi students. 4. Team registration procedure (not for each individual player), each step of which must be followed carefully: a. all members of the team must be registered to Bocconi Sport Team for the 2016-2017 sports season, paying the 25-euro membership fee which provides the right to insurance coverage for sporting injuries during the matches in the tournament (students enrolled in their first year of a Bachelor program or the Integrated Master of Arts in Law do not need to pay the membership fee, for Exchange students the registration fee is 10 euros). Find the full procedure HERE Membership fees must be collected by the captain and paid when documents are submitted. b. all members of the team must provide an original copy of a medical certificate for the practice of noncompetitive sports activities (or competitive certificate) that is valid for the entire duration of the tournament, certifying a normal EKG. Certificates that are different from those accepted by law and with wording other than that accepted by law (able to practice non competitive sports) will not be accepted. c. SDA students must provide a copy of their badge when registering. d. the captain must complete and sign the “Team Registration” and “Use of Personal Information” documents. e. the captain must collect the documentation and fees from all players on the team, as indicated in the points above, which must be submitted to the Bocconi Sport Team’ shop at Via Bocconi 12 (MondaysFridays between 9:00 and 1:00pm and between 2:00 and 5:30pm) to formalize the team’s registration in the tournament. At the Bocconi Sport Team’ shop Payment may only be made through ATM card or credit card (cash will not be accepted). f. Only at the end of the above procedure will a team be considered registered for the tournament. The first 32 male teams that have correctly completed registration will be admitted to the tournament. The only exception will be made for submission of medical certificates, which, if not available at the time of the team’s registration, it may be submitted at a later time by and no later than Friday 26 February 2016 under penalty of the player’s disqualification from the team. 5. No athlete may take part in any way in the tournament without a medical certificate. 6. Additions, but not substitutions can be made to the player list up to a maximum of 10 athletes per team, but 1 only during the first group stage. 7. It is forbidden to use cleats with spikes for 11-a-side soccer and any cleats other than those used in 5-a-side soccer. 8. No match may start or continue if either team has fewer than 3 players on the field. In this case the team will lose the match 6 to 0 with no game play. 9. No one other than the players, the referee and members of the organization may be present on the field. 10. At each match, all team members are required to show identification to the organizers and/or referee, or they will absolutely not be allowed to play the match. As an alternative, if the referee or a member of the organizational staff personally recognizes the player, he will be admitted, but this must be indicated on the match report. 11. Matches are composed of 2 periods of 20 minutes each. The break between the first and second half will be a maximum of 5 minutes. 12. Throughout the entire duration of the tournament, no player may be moved from one registered team to another, and “merges” between teams will not be admitted. 13. If two or more teams have the same number of points in the ranking at the end of the group matches, the following criteria will be used to determine which teams will advance to the next round: a) head-to-head match, b) difference in goals c) goals scored. If they are still tied, the decision will be made by flipping a coin. 14. Matches may begin a maximum of 5 minutes after the scheduled time; after that time, the win is awarded to the present team (6-0) with no game play. 15. 3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. 16. For single elimination matches ending in a draw after the regular timeframe, two overtime periods of 5 minutes each will be played. If the game is still tied, the teams will have 5 alternating penalty kicks each. If the tie is still unbroken, they will continue until the match is decided. 17. Sliding against opponents is not allowed (sliding to keep the ball from leaving the field or to intercept a pass is allowed). 18. An indirect foul will be called if the goalie plays the ball, then touches the ball again on his half of the field, after the ball was passed voluntarily by a team member and if the ball isn’t touched or played by an opponent. The Rules of the Game for 5-a-side soccer will be applied. These regulations can be downloaded at the following link http://www.aia-figc.it/download/regolamenti/reg_2014_c5.pdf (document in Italian), and the following exceptions apply: a) Rule one is not relevant as all matches will be played on the same facility. b) Rule 6 does not apply as all matches will be judged by one referee. c) The duration of the match is established in points 10 and 16 of these regulations. d) Due to the small size of the game play, the minimum distance for opposing players to stand during throwins, corner kicks and penalty kicks is only 4 meters. 19. Any player who is expelled or receives three warnings in three consecutive matches will be automatically disqualified from the following match, with the exception of more severe provisions decided by the organization. Warnings will be cleared at the end of the group matches. 20. The schedule and all other decisions made by the organizing committee are final. Any appeals must be submitted to the organization in written form within 24 hours after the end of the match. 21. Failure to know or understand the rules is not a valid reason for rules not being applied. 22. The organizational staff does not have any power over referee decisions. 2
